Last GE was my first, and let me tell you, you don't have to give real hints! :eek: It's more fun to keep people guessing. Hints are like, my SB has two ears, or my SB has a mommy who loves them, etc. Then when days go by start to give true clues but just a little! You want to try to keep it a surprise until they get the actual box.

Make sure the teasers you send don't have your return address! :p Or you can have someone else send one for you to throw off the scent. Or if you order from a vendor, just have them send it out. Be tricky! I know I have to step up my game this time.

What are considered teasers? like small gifts? hints to what the big box is?

Yes loving these tips cause it's my first GE as well...I was thinking about these teasers and was wondering how people get them without their SB knowing since it'd have a return address lol Now i can just get it sent from the vendor but doesn't the vendor include your receipt? I'd be too worried something from the vendor would give it away.

That is why we try to use YT vendors. YT vendors are all aware of the GE and do not include your info in the package.

A teaser gift can be anything you want. Last GE I sent two different ones to my SB. The first came from BowBizdogbows.com. (Free time to show off my Rosie's pictures!) Lol. We sent our SB some hair bows. Susan was great about sending to my SB and putting a card with it. So, she had no clue who it was sent by. Then I sent one from Jenny at Toplinepet.com. She too will send with a card so your SB will not know. We sent a Madan Brush and comb from here (if I remember correctly! :p) There are many vendors on here that are willing to do this!

Trying to remember the teasers from my SB. We got hair bows from Bow Biz too I think. And I got an awesome picture frame which was sent directly from the company. :)

You can also go back to past Gift Exchange threads to read some of the Hint Threads to get an idea...some are a riot! Whatever you do don't do what I did in my first Gift Exchange and give up who your Secret Buddy is just because they think they have found you out...lol:p I never was good at secrets...:rolleyes::D

Many times Secret:animal36Buddy's have been known to wait until their Momma's go to bed and then they sneak on the computer and start posting their own lil' hints!

On a more serious note, I will make a cheat sheet of all the Secret Buddy's names and important facts found in the Sign Up Info provided by the Momma's.

I will make a list with Name of Secret Buddy, Age, Male/Female, Weight, Favorite Color, etc and that is how I begin eliminating who is not a match until I center in on a couple possibilities.

Once you are notified who your Secret Buddy is, you can start making your list of hints. I usually will make my list as soon as I get the name and then spread the hints out over the course of the month. You shouldn't need more than 10 hints to last you through the month. Here's are some hint examples:

My Secret Buddy's name has 6 letters in it.

My Secret Buddy's favorite color is Purple.

My Secret Buddy weighs less than I do.

Important to note...not all who participate in the Gift Exchange have the interest or the time for the hints so, try not to let that disappoint you. It's all just about having fun!;)

I think it would be nice to start a thread like someone did for the previous GE. One before last I think. This was a place to put some additional information. For example, if one was looking at purchasing a cloud 9 bed. What colors? Print? Do you want it to match your house decor? Etc. Or the placemats? My placemats match my house colors. I think they also asked the momma's favorite scents, candy, etc. It was good information to provide additional assistance. What do you all think?
