Oh, my husband would so kill me if he knew how much I have spent. I really need to get the last few things that are on there way so I can get my box mailed. The real special things are on there way but in the meantime I just keep shopping and finding things. My daughter has all ready ask if we can do the next GE. I just love teaching her how giving is good. It has been a reall great experience for us. |
I think it is almost unfair to set a minimum of $25.00 when everyone knows how much more is actually spent on the ge gifts. I know it is all in the spirit of giving, but can you imagine being a newcomer to the ge and spending a little over $25.00 .... only to see everyone's smileboxes. I think we would all be fine in receiving the box, but I would be embarrassed if I gave the box not understanding how generous people on yt really are. I'm not saying raise the minimum to $100.00, but let's make it more realistic. |

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: I completely agree. Being my first GE, the first thing I did was look at all the smileboxes to get ideas. It was very obvious that people put so much time and effort to make the GE as amazing as it is! I don't think anyone stayed at the "minimum". I think I would be embarrassed too if I hadn't seen the previous GE smileboxes and just spent $25 on my first box. Its obvious people go above and beyond for these exchanges. |

I agree as well. I've been stalking the GE for awhile :p, so I've seen how much time, effort, and money people put into boxes for their buddies. $25 seems very, very low. |
I agree too! One teaser gift can end up costing $25. It is a very low limit. I believe that we go way over that. |
I agree with everything being said.......I never sat back and kept track of what i have spent--knowing that is much more than 25.00, i have a ruff idea this go around. ....so i think higher limits, or maybe 2 different ges------------1 for the 25.00ish and one for the higher limit. that way if people want to take part in one but cant afford the higher ge, they still can. I know alot of people have put out alot of time, effort and money this GE and most GEs, and most boxes speak for themselves when you see the pictures. I think it shoud be fair for all involved in which ever GE they choose. (If 2 GEs are available). If not then definatley the higher limit. |

Not kidding! I do have an account, which I do get a discount, but it is a measly discount at best. (Average $2 less) If something is a bit large, i always ship it FedEx. Only if I can fit in in a flat rate box or envelope do I ship it USPS. But still! |
I have found that too with shipping with USPS...if it fits in a priority box, I will ship USPS....if not, I usually ship FedEx. I find that FedEx is less expensive and I ship alot to my dd who is in college so it helps. We will be shipping FedEx this ge! |
I'm going with Fedex this time. Hoping they don't milk me dry. The fedex box already cost me like $3-4. |
I never pay for my boxes, I always reuse and recycle. The box I received was reused and recycled also, I didn't mind one bit! I also order flat rate padded envelopes from USPS and use those whenever I can for packing, and not actually shipping tee hee *shhhhh!* And other supplies that you can order for free. One thing I have noticed, home delivery signature requires is an additional fee, and sometimes the man doesn't get a siggy even though you pay extra! |

I love it...never thought about doing that! We get alot of boxes at work so I usually ship in one of those....but for packing...very clever ;) |

Even when I drop them off at the post office I get asked all the time...and I always reply...do you see your logo showing through? Duh...idiots! |

My point is...the USPS are cracking down on the use of their "free" products being misused (ex: envelopes being used for packing material, etc). I'm not judging mind you...just saying, be careful...they do open up packages randomly and will slam ya if they discover stuff like that. |
The USPS tyvek envelopes now have "Priority mail" stamped on the inside as well. I pay for postage online so I don't ever have to actually deal with any of the lovely USPS employees in person. I still do order their custom form envelopes to use to attach my online paid labels so I don't have to use my own tape. Ha. |

Those couple times a month that we free ship...those items go in "our" lovely Tyveck envies...and yes, you're right the new PM envies do have their logo on both sides but, some of their older envies (which we still have yet to use up:rolleyes:) bring about the twenty questions...ugh! Anywhoo...guess we got this thread off topic, sorry about that Admin...:p |
