I remember the day before we left England I had my hair done and had so much hair spray on it I just wanted to get it washed out when I got here. We stayed with Bruce's grandmother in Cumberland, MD and Bruce took me to the local chemist (drug store). I asked for a lacquer removing shampoo and the clerk didn't understand me. I had to repeat myself three times and she still didn't understand me. Bruce thought it was funny, and he said to the clerk "You'll have to forgive my wife, she just arrived in the states and doesn't speak English yet" He translated for me! It turned out that they didn't make a shampoo over here specifically for removing hair spray! But the clerk did tell Bruce that I obviously spoke better English than they did:D |

I went on holiday to Egypt this year and most of the egyptians couldnt understand a word I was saying. I would go to the bar and ask for a coke, I would get beer or water! A few times the egyptians over heard me and my BF speaking to each other and asked if we were russian or polish! I mean I know our accent is strong and can be hard to understand but come on LOL! :D |
