You guys are amazing! I cannot believe the instant support for this! Dustin will be surprised. I don't think he will mind being on Team Yorkie at all! I am very grateful.

I did not find out Dustin was in the running for this Play of the Week on our local TV channel until last night. It has been going on all week. So, in less than a day, you all have propelled him into first place! I really do hope he wins this. He has gotten player of the week for his team before from the local Quarterback Club but this one is between all of the schools in the viewing area (Alabama & NW Florida).

It is actually Play of the Week and will include the teammate who passed the ball to him. So, it is a Team Award. Our little Milton team does not often get recognition from the media. So, every little thing like this is big news for us! The boys are 5/1 for the season. Dustin could not even celebrate his own good game because it was their first team loss of the season. For him the win is all there is.

Thanks to all of you for taking time to do this for Dustin. He is a great kid who has managed to continued to excell even during a very tragic time. I am pretty proud of him!

Turns out the voting was over before we even knew about it.

The good news is that had we known, we could have insured his win! It was an amazing experience to see how YT'ers can turn around a poll.

I have never seen a ballot remain open after the voting has ended...not ever.

I am so sorry -- how Debbie (Toy) found out the voting had actually ended way over in TN while I didn't know right here in FL, is crazy. I am so sorry you all went through that when it was over last night. I looked all over and could not see where voting would end. Can't believe they let people keep voting! I guess I will have to stay on top of things better.

Rest assured that Dustin will know how you all went to bat for him (sorry for using a baseball metaphor with a football theme!) It is very heartwarming to see how everyone pitches in to help a YT member, no matter what it might be. I appreciate all the efforts! I promise to be on top of things better -- I hate to admit I did not even know he was on there running for Play of the Week ever since last Friday and I just found out by a phone call last night. I guess everyone thought I would know. He did get the Panhandle Sports Broadcasting Play of the Week (but I think that is just for our county). PSB just names it, no voting. We had already known about that and to tell the truth I did not realize channel 3 did a Play of the Week. I do watch their Prep Football Final every Friday to see the game highlights, so I am not totally clueless. One more thing that would never have happened if his dad was here. He watched everything sports related there was. I sure do miss him in so many ways!

But really guys -- this was just fantastic. Whether he won or not -- it was fun to keep checking in every few hours today and watch the numbers go up in his favor. It was a nice affirmation of the good-hearted folks here on YT! You guys are the BEST!
