Questions????? I have already signed up for our first ever GE!!!YEY!!! I was just wondering, as we're in the UK, about taxes and duties and such. As the package we're recieving will be a gift I've heard that it has to be marked as such, but does any one know if theres a size/weight limit? Do I need to worry about any of this sending to the US or do I just need to leave notes on sending for my SB? Thanks in advance!!!:D |
I'm not participating in the GE but thought I would bump this for you to get an answer hopefully! :) |
I would give all that info to Admin and I'm sure they can pass all shipping information along to your secret buddy. I'm sure admin can help advise for all shipping to other countries. |
Oh wow .... interesting to know .... |
I'm not sure if there is a size/weight limit for shipping to our country from the US, the parcel I received from Ashley in the last exchange was HUGE! The US postal services will be able to advise your buddy on the best method for them to send your gift to you and I don't think that any of mine so far have been marked as a gift, (on the customs declaration it's just been stated what was in the package, i.e - dog clothes, dog toys, dog treats), and I'm not had to pay a fee or anything at the post office, they have all arrived to my house fine. Sending to the US you have to keep your packages below 2kg if using the Royal Mail. Anything over and you need to use a courier service and that is COSTLY, they charge you by the overall volume of your parcel as well as the weight! The post office will get you to fill out a customs declaration too, just state what's in there and the estimated amout for insurance. GE rules say you need to PM Admin a tracking number and use signature confirmation, so you need to send via Airsure and with International Signed for added to it. |
Thanks!!! Thanks for all the help! I'm a shopaholic and its gonna be very hard to keep my parcel below 2kg! I've been buying for weeks and I don't even know who I'm buying for yet!LOL!!!:D |
