Advice for our first GE Hi Everybody! me and Sadie are super excited about the upcoming GE! We can't wait to sign up. Since this is our first GE we want to make sure we are up to date on all of the coolest gifts and ideas. Please tell us what your favorite gifts to give and get are, favorite places to buy and about how much do you spend? We want to make sure our Secret Yorkie loves there gifts when they get them. Hi there! Since this will be my first GE too, I'm bumping up this thread! I'm still trying to decide who to enter! My fear is that all the "regulars" here on YT already have everything from previous GE's! |

The last GE was my first and we loved it! what helped me alot was the sign up, where the members tell you a bit on what they would like and things they do not need or their dog cant have. members also start threads on stuff like that. as far as what you spend...limit is 25 but i will say that I spent WAY over that amount. Its really fun:) |
Well this one will be my second GE and I learned lot from my first .... LOL I was not for shure what to buy and how much and worried it would be stupid ..... but my GE Buddy was the best - and I think she realy liked her stuff ! Have fun you two ..... |

They give you an idea of what your buddy would like and from there the best advice I can give is give from your heart and have fun! It really is about the enjoyment :) Oh, and send it out on time :) |
The last GE was my first and you "newbies" as you guys put it are in for alot of fun! Yes, the sign up thread will give you all the important details about your secret buddy (age, weight, measurments, sizes, etc.), but if you want ideas of what to buy or what people have gotten in the past, go to the "thank you" threads from the last GE. You'll see lots of pictures and lists of what everyone got from their secret buddies. I too am looking forward to the next GE. I have 4 yorkie fur-babies and they all want to be a part of the fun. But they have to take turns (one at a time) and this will be just our 2nd one. Glad you are all going to be a part of the next GE! Maybe I'll get one of YOU for Lexie's secret buddy! First of all congratulations for making the decision to participate! I can tell you that GE's are a ton of fun. As fas as shopping goes, the GE signup sheet will give you a ton of hints.... and then just have fun..... let your mind and heart loose and enjoy shopping, making and creating. If you put your heart in your gifting and send love in the box, I can guarantee that your buddy will be elated! |

The last GE was my first and it was a wonderful experience! I strongly urge all members to take part in it. Don't stress about what to buy, you will get a list of likes and dislikes for your buddy. And really, can you ever have too much stuff for your furbaby?!:D Looking over the thank you threads from the last GE will give you a good idea of the presents other people have gotten. Most send lots of toys, blankets, bows, clothes, treats, and some send a little something for the furbaby's momma! I don't have all the answers since I've only participated in one GE, but feel free to PM me if you need some advice or need some detective work done! :D |

That is very true! I keep a box of items for GEs. If I find a good sale, I'll buy something and put it in the box. If I find a GREAT deal, I buy two! :D Personally, I make a lot of the gifts I give. This makes it fun for me because I can give our buddy more cool things I couldn't afford any other way, and it seems to be more personal and in the spirit of the gift exchange. I only buy two or three items, and when I do I try to buy completely from YT vendors when possible. For example, if I want treats I go to one of these vendors..(no particular order) Chattiesmom = Yorkie Yummies Diggy4= Diggy kisses Bren = cafe max iced apple cinnabones Also, watch for GE sales. Most vendors on YT will have a sale that coincides with the GE. |
I can't wait to sign up either! It will be my first GE as well! I know we'll go overboard.....I have a problem when it comes to goodies for the furbutts!:rolleyes: |
