I doubt I'll get the posts and CAN'T fit $50 into a non exsistent budget. I bought OVER the limit last time and shipped. Hubby nor I has had a job in 3 months so people that just got gifts and ran should be ashamed! I would've at least sent it back had I not shipped out my own, OR at least intended to before the deadline. It was fun but I doubt I'll make the cut this time. I could do another 20-25 but definatley not 50. SO you guys enjoy and maybe I'll be able to participate next time. (yes, hubby has a job now. I get those wonderful weekly paychecks starting on the 26th) lol....=) |

I loved the idea of a halloween exchange at first. Just imagine all the little puppies that got costumes, it would be adorable. But the more I read I really think we should stick to fall/winter. Since there are people that don't celebrate certain holidays maybe we shouldn't limit the exchange to one of those. It just doesn't seem as though it would be much fun for someone who doesn't celebrate Halloween to recieve something Halloween related. In the very least if we do do a Halloween one we should allow those who don't celebrate the holiday to state that so that their buddy can maybe just buy something not so holiday related. Anyway its going to be great and thanks admin. and Natalie for putting your time into it. |
Good ideas, everyone! Keep 'em coming. Like I said before, I think we should do a seasonal theme and if you want to see if there are some who want to celebrate the holidays within those seasons.. than I could ask participants to state whether or not they celebrate the holidays so when you get your buddy's information.. you'll know whether or not they do or don't celebrate the holiday. |
I would love to participate in this gift exchange. I would prefer a winter gift exchange but whatever you should decide would be okay by me. It should be alot of fun. Please let me know what to do. |

I think it is a great idea to state whether you celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas in the information that is given to your secret partner! This way we would not send something halloweeny or christmasy to someone who doesn't celebrate the holiday becuase then they would never use it! But the people that do celebrate the holidays could get cute costumes or something like that, something to be used on halloween and christmas! |

I agree, a fall/winter theme is more appropriate than a holiday theme. Unless we let make it known what our beliefs are in our sign up post. I agree with the rules, I sold someone a shirt on here and sent it out before I got the money and never did get the money, you just can't trust everyone. Just because you have a cute lil dog doesn't make you honest! I will just keep posting to get my numbers up! |
Ok, maybe I'm just confused or it's getting close to the end of the work day or the fact I have an interview in 2 hrs. I didn't get to participate in the first gift excahnge but sure I will be able to get to amount of past needed. So would I need to provide the deposit? |

I think a season's theme would be easiest. However, if members really like the Halloween/ Christmas idea, maybe you could just say that members have to say yes or no to Halloween, Chirstmas, and Chanakuh (sorry, I'm sure I killed the spelling of that!). I know that would be some extra work, but you could pass that along to Brooke! Sounds great, and I'm definitely getting in on this one. Thanks Natalie for all of your hard work again! |
O.k quick question. I will be getting 2 new fur babies in September can they be entered??? That would mean I would be entering 4 kiddos. Could 2 be paired to a person with 2 kiddos and the other 2 with another person with 2 kiddos. Hope you understand what I mean. Smiles, :) Myra |

Deposit Wow. I understand the reason for the deposit, but that's going to discourage quite a few people I would think. If you have 2 dogs-which many of us do (or even more :eek: ) it would probably get a little outragous. This will discourage me-I don't have close to 500 posts, and I am probably the most honest person that you will ever find. If the deposit holds, I don't think I will do this-not with 2 dogs...the way that I understand this is that I will have $50 in a deposit. Right now I have soooo many things going on (2 kids going back to school, myself going back to school and medical bills out the whazoo), I don't think I could do it. |
Minimum Posts Has anyone thought about lowering the minimum number of posts? 500 seems like a lot. |
I guess the more that I think about it-it's only $50 and you get it back. That's not such a big deal. It wouldn't discourage me, but for someone who had 3 or 4...that's $75-$100 in a deposit. |
