Clothes Pattern Hello Yorkie Talkers, I know a lot of you sew for your babies. I want to try to make a short sleeved tee shirt for my two girls. I need a pattern in a size small. A little bigger or smaller will work as I can adjust it if necessary. I can buy one from Simplicity, but trying to save a little money and get one for free or below $6.00. Thanks so much for any help. I ❤️ Yorkies & Yorkie Talkers🐾🐾 |
do you have any clothes already for your babies, that you could use for a pattern? |
Good idea😊 I tried that and it turned out not so good. It is a good idea though. I'm just not that great at sewing yet. I even took the one I had apart only to find out that the sides weren't even and when I put mine together it didn't turn out so great. I do much better with a pattern to go by. Thanks for you answer😊 |
There is a sticky at the top of fashion forums thread which has some great resources for patterns (I think most of them are free) here is the link: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...tern-list.html |
One of the links I followed from there looking for dog t shirt patterns was the following one and it appears to cover several styles: http://www.mimiandtara.com/?m=1 Good luck on your shirts! |

All of the Simplicity links are invalid. I think some of the others are as well. |

OP, if you are still looking at different shirt options you may be surprised to find what you can craft from an old sweater sleeve! :) I have actually made sweaters for baby goats who were being bottle fed out of roomy wool sweater arms ;) |
Unfortunates was not satisfies. |

I bought onesies on sale. Then I adjusted them. I’ve made some for my girl and boy. I use them backwards, remove the bottom and use the binding for the new bottom I create. I taper the sides and adjust the neck. It takes me about ten minutes per shirt. The 0-3 mo. Size works perfectly for my seven pound yorkies. Gew |
I took this pattern, because it's Winter and I wanted the under area. Then I changed it to become longer, with an added layer of polar fleece, and a layer of water resistant fabric, I split it up the all the way up the back back with velcro closure top to bottom, lace at the bottom, and lace neck line, with a belt all around for extra security for the two loops I added to hook Katy's leash unto. Then I made another. It's an easy pattern to use, and it's easy to adjust the size. I will have to get photos. https://www.instructables.com/id/Hom...For-Beginners/ |
