Faux Fur is Not Really Fake "Faux" Fur is Often Real Fur from Real Animals. Don't Buy It. | Care2 Causes I had no idea....and I have purchased some faux fur thinking it was fake and no real animals were harmed. I hope it really is....sorry the video is not something I watched as I just assume it will hurt my heart. I just wanted to spread awareness that the Fake in Faux may not really be the case. |
I always check that any faux fur is 100% acrylic. |
You can always tell if it is really or not. And if you can't light a piece. If it melts or smells like petro or plastic it is faux. If it smells like burning hair then it is real |

Yup, it's true...most especially if the faux fur is from China. Be VERY careful of faux fur from China, where they often use cat, dog, and rabbit fur but call it 'faux'. Usually, if you're quite familiar w/ the texture of faux, you'll be able to tell immediately if the faux is 'real'. Real fur (cat, rabbit, dog) has a very different feel to it than the rougher faux. Fur in China is obtained in one of the most graphic, cruel, diabolical methods ever...I'm not even going to describe it bc of how horrific it is. So please, DO be careful. Thanks for posting such an important reminder! |
