Today's Project 1 Attachment(s) A new doggy gate of sorts. The girls stay in the sunroom when unsupervised. Well my daddy is older and bless his heart, has fell several times by tripping over the wooden gate we had up. So Mom & I saw this idea on Pinterest. I'm not sure how many of you use Pinterest but it is fabulous! Anyways, I took scrap fabric and made a basic panel. I added the casings on the top and bottom for the tension rods to go through. My dad used a drill bit to drill into the wood just a tad so the rods have a place to rest on. I know they are tension rods but no matter how tight you get them they still can slide. This step prevents that. So now it matches our Alabama themed 'fan cave' and is easier for people to step over. Much more affordable than the gates you can get that have the little door. And personalized to your space. I just wanted to share. I thought some might could use this in their homes. It was super simple! :) |
Great idea! Wish I had thought of it. I may have to try something like it myself. Thanks!! |
That looks amazing! I love the fabric you chose. My Lexi has free reign of the house, but this makes me want to put up a gate somewhere....just because it looks so nice. lol |
I love it! But I guess your doggies haven't learned how to jump yet? Lol! Tink would be over that in a heartbeat, then the others would just run right through it! I need a 6 ft wrought iron indoor gate here! (JK) I really like that it coordinates with any theme.... |
I love it. It is good to keep pups in but kitties can jump over. I just love it. Did you sew the houndstooth down the center? |
That's very cute and would have worked well for my chicken poodles but Lola would be out in a minute (jumping or pushing curtain aside). |

But it's a great idea. I would have to make mine taller. |
How inventive, very neat. Great job Aymee :) |
I just love the idea and the fabric. I would have to make it higher for Marcie. Thanks for sharing. |
Very clever. The best part is you can make it to fit any height you need. If you don't mind, I'm going to be borrowing this idea. |
Y'all borrow away. I found the idea on Pinterest. I knew I had to try it. So far, our girls have not jumped over it. They can see over it if they get up on their hind legs but I am not sure if they can jump it....or I hope not. LOL. But if they do, I guess I'll be whipping up another and making it taller. ;) |
dog That is so cute! My little fence is not working well so I may try that. It adds some personality to your home too! |
Very cute! |
fabulous idea Aymee thank you for sharing and I agree Pinterest rocks for ideas. :)) |
