" Bella's Doggy Boutique " What do ya think ?
 

Well it didn't take me ling to get the sewing bug. I've been showing off my sewing and I have gotten great revues. I've had several people ask if I am going to sell my dresses and I think, Hmm Maybe. Even my DD who hates everything that I do suggested I should sell them.

I really enjoy sewing and Im loving the design challenges her on YT. I'm getting lots of practice and trying new techniques. I am trying to find the best way to get the sewing done in the shortest most stressful manner possible. I'm not sure that Im ready to take on custom orders but I would love to see if I can sell some of my work. Im not perfect and I sill have a long way to go but I figure why not I cant be the only crazy dog lady who dresses up their dogs ! :D

I think I will add some vests and slip collars (bandanas) for the boys too before I put anyone up for sale. So, I'm working on several dresses at once and than I'll try out some other items. If I can master the dresses the boys vest and bandana should be a breeze!

I don't use pattern but if I all goes well and I start making more I will defiantly need a set pattern (size wise). Any thought on a simple pattern to make a small, medium and a large would be great.

Your idea to start by selling ready made is a sound one. It will save you a lot of frustration.

Good for you!! I like Dawn's Designs also. I started selling my stuff In March. I went big and got myself a booth at the Pet Expo. I don't do anything on a small scale (lol). I sold almost everything and now I've partnered up with a local pet boutique. We go on vacation next week and I'm hoping to sign up two more boutiques when we get back. :) So I'm wishing you nothing but luck and good vibes. Also, get involved with your local pet events. I'm providing a few items for our local daschund (sp?) rescue. The cost is minimal and I'll get my name out there. Plus, it's a great cause!! There are a lot of us "crazy dog ladies" out there.

I will more than likely start off with a page on Face Book. I don't plan on going all crazy but I wouldn't mind the extra income. If I do well I may have to take over half of my e-bay room to make room for my sewing machine and supplies. I haven't been selling on e-bay since before winter. My lazy side a kicked in and I just lost interest.

Well I do like "Bella's Doggy Boutique' better but it seems like most of you like "Dawn's Doggy Designs" . . . .The word "Deigns" is universal (all) kinds of designs but the word "Boutique" seem like it should be a shop or a store of some sort. I don't know.... I'm confused.

Im working on more dresses and it took me 2 hrs to finally figure out how to make the slip through bandana. Found instructions on line but they were not what I wanted. So I say down and figured it out on my own. I found a nice way to do it and not have any open seams. Yay !

may i suggest you check for domain names incase you one day decide to make it bigger than fb or etsy.....see what is available and technically you should go with what you love the most. jmo. ;)

It looks as if DDD & BDB are already taken on FB. Neither are on Etsy . Don't plan on making it a bigger thing just to keep me busy and as a hobby. Not sure how to check for a domain name.

you can just go to godaddy or a place like that and put it in the search box. well that stinks about fb maybe you could recreate the name to work on fb......you dont have fees there like etsy. bellas boutique by dawn.... or bella dawn's boutique
