Ole' Betty :sewmachin is getting a work out & our old friend Seem Ripper
and I have gotten reacquainted !

Its all Donna's (Dblain) fault...she put the design challenge out there and I accepted it. Who knew it would be so addicting.

I figured why not its just one little ole harness vest, I can do that. Well I pulled Ole' Betty out of the back of my closet, dusted her off and got right to work. Finished my first ever doggy harness vest in just under 3 hrs. It wasn't as difficult as I though it would be. Im use to creating my own patterns and just sitting down and figuring it out on my own. This was no different. I had no pattern but I had a templet from a vest Ruby got from the GE. I knew it would be the right fit for her so I traced and there ya go.

So, now I have made 3 total. Plus I cut material for two dresses. I've gone to Hobby Lobby and Joann's and got more material for several more dresses.

So, lets just say that Ruby's wardrobe will be expanding and we are going to need a Bigger drawer. Plus, I plan on making a few item to donate to Yorke Haven Rescue for their next auction this coming July.

I just want to say how much fun I've been having and
thank you for getting my passion for sewing back.

OH how I love your post because the girls here on the forum did it to me back in the fall so I am only to happy to infect you with this bug, before you know it you will be passing it on to the next unsuspecting victim:D. Linda will be happy for the extra dresses you will be making

Too bad we live all over the world or we could get together and have a little doggy clothes Sewing Bee !! :D

But thankfully we have YT and Smilebox to share our ideas and our finished products. I cant wait to see everyone ideas.

I need to come up with an idea for my last jean vest. Im keeping mine simple and fit to my style of every day wear for Ruby. I've been going thru my sewing box and materials and haven't found anything worth working with. So off to the store I go. . . again !!

I love how so many people will go to such great lengths to spoil their yorkies! So many have tried their hands at sewing, crafting and building for their beloved dogs! :cheer::woof::yay_jump:

:D I sort of have to.... DD just turned 20 and my son is 12. They dont like to cuddle and definitely dont like when I make a fuss over them. So, my pups have taken over their roles as my cuddle bugs. Plus at least the dogs cant say much about the clothes that I buy or make for them nd make them wear like my skin kids do....uh !

I have one finished. Pretty proud of it since this is the first vest ever. Working on the next one this weekend :)
