1 Attachment(s) Have made a Marius dog sweater (The pattern is called Marius) that i wanted to show you :-) Have also made one in lime With Purple pattern, but i dont have Pictures of it. The one in the Picture are in the original Marius colors. Attachment 388773 The pattern is in a Marius knit book that i have, it has many nice things you could make for the hole family :-) |
I've been crocheting for about 12 years now, and knitting for probably 6. I'm a 19 year old male too! I don't use any sort of pattern, mostly because I haven't taken the time to learn the abbreviations. I actually paid for my darling Priscilla buy selling crocheted dog sweaters at the pet store in my town :) |

What yarn are you using for the sweater? |

Crochet flowers is about all I can manage, I'm more of a knitting gal. |
Tessa: No, this is really a simple pattern. You knit with 5 needles starting with k2 p2 making the neck. Then knit as normal with some increasing (remeber to set aside stitches for the legs) when you come a bit behind the legs, you bind of under the tummy. Knit back and forth some rounds, then k2 tog on each end til you have the rounded shape. Bind of. Pick up stitches around the edge and k2 p2 for an inch or so. Then make the legs (k2p2) |

An easier way towards the end is to do your ribbing in the rounds without having to bind off, unless you prefer to pick up stitches. That's what I do for my doggie sweaters :) |

I dont quite understand how you can knit the back of the sweater in rounds? Do please explain to me, maybe i can learn something new :) |
KFB is knitting front to back resulting in an increase of stitches. I've worked in the rounds using 5 needles but prefer circulars for the body and DPNs for the sleeves. I "knit" stitch all around and only purl for the ribbing portion or when the pattern calls for it. I don't work from inside out, therefore I'm always knitting on the right side instead of wrong side of the sweater. Hope that makes sense. I still don't understand how you rounded off your sweater :( I guess we all have different methods to knitting :) |

I never learned to knit but I have a lot of respect for those that do...it sure seems like it takes a lot of time! |

It's getting much cooler here. Fingers crossed that we'll get to see snow in TX again this year. I'm also getting knitty, anyone? ;) |
Yesterday it started snowing here in northern Norway, and i dont like it :( The sun is very low now and soon it will be gone, and it does'nt come back until late January. Knitty? Not sure what it means, but i guess im feeling knitty all the time :D Now im making myself a thick winter sweater, and later on im going to make a new sweater for Rocky Superman. The one he has fits him perfectly, and will not fit the hole winter. (Hope he stops growin now, he is perfect as he is) What projects are you guys working on? Or planning? |
Sorry to hear that, winter months must be harsh in Norway huh. As for us we look forward to it, anything to get out of the hot TX heat. Knitty is my term for when I have an itch for knitting, which is pretty much year-round. At the moment I have a few projects on loose ends that will be completed. I've took a twist on yarn and made new Halloween bows with toys to match but it's more for design and not for sale. What I really want to start on is a cabled leg warmer for myself. Bf wants a knit beanie for work, so I'll see what I can do. Happy knitting all :) |

If you google timezone you can find a map with all the timezones. Ill be knitting and watching this tv show ;) |

Knitting ! Crocheting ! I love both and find some simple patterns along with video instructions on You Tube . My biggest challenge was a sweater for my grand dog, a 9 pound Italian Greyhound. Their body shape is nothing like a yorkie . I can't seem to get the picture to upload here. The projects are very relaxing, lately have been just simple scarves, nice first timer project. Happy Knitting & Happy Hooking ! ;) Lacey R.I.P. 10-22-13 |
