Embellished Harness Vests 2 Attachment(s) I have been having fun with hot fix stones and roses and have made a few fancy harness vests. I am torn about the D rings. I want the vests to be very secure and safe for walking so that is why the D ring is in the middle on a reinforced strip, I put double interfacing in that area and then once the vest is assembled stich it to the lining, I have been able to lift Lola off the ground in the vest if needed and she does not tear it if pulling to get to a squirrel. Comments and suggestions to help me improve on these vests are appreciated. Also let me know which is your favorite out of the embellished ones. Thanks for looking (I am not going to be selling these) This first one is a denim fabric that has been coated with some type of metallic sheen, it's very shimmery in person. |
2 Attachment(s) this fabric is a very soft ultra suede it is crème with gold dots. this fabric was very easy to sew with since there was very little fraying |
3 Attachment(s) this one is more of a shabby chic look, and very similar to the one I made for Lilo in the GE. The other one is a faux leather python look, everyone loves this one, but since Lola is so dark it does not show up that great on her. I stuffed the bow with pillow stuffing. |
gorgeous...i love them all but my fav is the first one!!! |
You have created a beautiful harness for your kiddo's :) you should be selling some |
How beautiful. They are all great. I have to say I like the first one best also. You do wonderful work, Donna. |
Very nice..I love the denim one as well. I think I may pull out my machine and start making some for Wallee as well...I still get a little nervous about the velcro holding but I guess it has been tested by many. I have always been great at sewing any clothing/costumes we need so am sure I could manage these vests to style up my little guy. ;) |

I bet anything you make would come out great, I have been loving all the dresses you have been crocheting. And since you do crochet you could combine it with your vests. I can't do that so I have to purchase the little roses. The key is to use a lot of Velcro so you can wrap him good and also over reinforce everything. Lola is between 5.5 and 6 lbs, how much does Wallee weigh. The Velcro holding to me is not as much as a concern as the D ring pulling out of the fabric. |
I love them! The first one is my favorite too. I like things with LOTS of embellishments. LoL Very nice job! |

Oh...never thought about the D ring..guess cause the only harnesses I have so far are reinforced well. Wallee is now 11 lbs. Not sure if he will get any heavier as he is now a year old...lol..His mommy lives down the street and she is only 6 lbs and his daddy was pretty close to that too.. I saw them both when I picked him out..I believe he is the biggest of the litter with the rest going around 6lbs. Not that I mind as I wanted a "sturdy" dog due to having 12lb cats living here. :cat: |
All of them are LOVELY!! You have inspired me to continue creating. |
Fantastic! They are all beautiful. Any of these would look wonderful on your pups. I'm kind of partial to the denim with the pink. Would be great on my Princess Sophie!! |

Oh my gosh, Donna! Those are just gorgeous!! Loving the detailed embellishments! I'm very impressed that the D-ring is so sturdy and will lift Lola off the ground. :) |
Hands down, the shabby chic! That is so freaking cute! I'm so jealous of all the adorable girly stuff. It's almost impossible to finds really cute boy clothes. |
