I've watched the Tour for many years...I'm a wannabe rider...trying to get back into it.

I made a mistake in my opening post... should have read that the winner by time for each stage gets the Yellow jersey and the stuffed lion.

I'd love to hear your DH's opinion on their outfits...

you were right the first time, the yellow jersey is given to the overall leader of the tour to date. Which means that each day the yellow jersey is given to the rider that has the best time which is based on all the days ridden, regardless if he won the day's stage/race. Bradley Wiggins wore the yellow jersey for a ton of days when he did not win the stage. You can actually win the tour without winning a stage. I might be wrong but I don't think they have a color for each day'winner, but I could be off on that. I love the poka dot which I think is king of the moutains and the white jersey for the young rider, which was the American kid, I forgot his name but I think he will be a force to reckon with in the future .

I like bike riding, but gave up my road/fast bike because it was killing my hands and back to be bent over so much, it is surprising how much pressure that bent over position can put on your hands. I now ride a comfort bike with a basket on the front for the dog. My DH and I fight about this all the time because when we go on a ride together he has a feather weight bike I can pick up with my pinky to my bike that I can hardly lift with two hands. He was already faster and now it's not even close. He said he is going to buy me thinner tires. I told him to buy a cheap comfort bike that is harder to peddle. He has had two accidents at the same park as a result of going to fast. Last one was two years ago, he made the mistake of yelling I am on your left to a bunch of Arabic women that were walking on the path, none of them spoke English . He had to have 2 surguries and pins and stuff, LOL I was very mad at him and had a fight in the ER when I finally went to pick him up. He just thinks everyone will get out of his way since he is "such a fast rider";)
