Fun, easy, dress for Macayla 4 Attachment(s) Hi, This is my latest creation for my girls. I was walking through the infant dept. at Walmart, and this dress picked me! (Do you ever walk through the infant dept when you have no grandkids, or is it just me?) All this dress entails was making it smaller and adding a pink bow? $5 invested and so much fun. |
very thrifty and adorable!! |
Oh my...now that is so cool! Great job and I just love the print! Macayla looks beautiful! |
Wow! Beautiful dress! I used to live in the infant dept at Walmart! Haha! You can't beat the price and the labor to make it fit! Great idea for any non-sewists out there! |

Macayla is still learning to be a model and she is doing much better when she learned she would get a tiny piece of cheese for co-operation, LOL.:) I used to live in the infant dept at Walmart! Haha! You can't beat the price and the labor to make it fit! Great idea for any non-sewists out there! Yes it is a EASY thing to do for those who want to start sewing but are afraid! 12 mo old infant dresses are great!:) |
Very nice and the fabric is so pretty. |
Beautiful dress you made your baby. Just love the print. I remake baby clothes for my Luci can't beat the yard sale price's and some of the out fits doesn't require a lot of make over's. I'm partial to the one piece short outfit's. Mostly you only have to cut down back and take off under neath so she can still go potty and they look absolutely adorable. Then my daughter make's matching bow's with the left over material.:p |
I for got to mention you have one beautiful baby there. And I just love her name.:p |
That is lovely!! My favorite dresses for Mina are made from Carters NB knit dresses. GoodWill,Sams and Babys R Us are all great places to get these. |
What a fabulous dress! I am certainly not talented when it comes to sewing, but I could certainly manage slight alterations. You've given me inspiration. Now I have some shopping to do! |
How adorable! And I love how thrifty you are! That's a wonderful idea. I too find myself sneaking to the baby dept but it's usually for hairbows. :) |
I love finding new ways to re-purpose a dress for our Yorkies. Love that yard sale idea! I have about 10 dresses I bought years ago at a thrift store that I want to alter like this, so can't wait until I have time to play with them! :):):) |
that is adorable. You are so clever. Heading to Walmart soon. |
Awww how cute and how clever :) I just love the print and you did a fantastic job of altering it. |
very cute dress and such a clever idea and what a pretty model you have. I don't sew or have children yet I do the same thing. I do buy hair bows there because I like the little the small plastic barrets. A few days ago I was standing in the infant department of a local chain called Meijer, they had the cutest multi layered ruffled dresses in neon colors with sparkle, nothing like any fabric I have seen and I kept thinking hmmmmm what if I bought it what would I do with it....... but I chickened out since I have no sewing machine. Kathy said she thinks I should start sewing. We have a Joeann's opening just a few miles from me, in the fall I will probably look into buying a machine and taking some classes. |
