So whacha workin on? It has been rainy and gloomy over Dallas since yesterday and today is no different. Something about the weather and the pitter-patter sounds of rain is making me feel rather crafty today. Maybe because it's a good day to be indoors on a calm cool quiet morning. I'm having hot chocolate to jump start my day. I don't sew but as some of you may know, I would love to when that time comes. For the most part I enjoy seeing all the wonderful things everyone has made in our little fashion section and I am loving the talents I see out there new and old. For today and for the remainder of the week I am going to be working on a few cards for Daisy's exchange. I will also be doing some bead-work and knitting. With the GE out of the way and weather permitting, I can now focus on my creative abilities and do what I love which is making things for my fluffs & friends. I will post photos of these projects to the forum when they're complete. So to all the ladies in the fashion forum and to those who craft & create for leisure. Mind telling me what sort of projects you'll be working on for the week? :) |
what exchange is Daisy going to be in, are you on a web site like this for Maltese pups. I have no craft projects just tons of work stuff to catch up on since i have been gone and flowers that are going to die unless I get them potted. I hate to rub it in but we are in for 4 solid days of sun, can't wait to get outside |

Finished baby boy crib shoes, went to Walmart and Albertsons in the rain. Im sure there is a camera somewhere with footage of me trying to cram a 32gal trash can in the backseat of my mustang while it was pouring rain. Gonna start on a wedding dress for a friend next,,,I have 8days to get this done,so there will be no furbaby clothes made, except for it swimming around in my head for when I am done with the dress. |

The dress is a white 1950s retro garden party gown. Im thrilled it isnt a floor length dress. She is going to even wear a petticoat/crinilyn under it. The groom is my best friends son that is a Marine. This is my gift to the couple. Im so excited for them. They have been together for about 6yrs. |
love the sound of that style and LOL I think it would make a great yorkie dress, I have been wanting an I love Lucy dress for Lola that sounds similiar to that style. |

Hi ladies! I have been absent for a few weeks as I had some other things I had to attend to, so I put away anything about sewing so I could concentrate...It is all finished now, so I ordered 2 rolls of the 2 in wide velcro from Amazon and am waiting for it to arrive. Before I took a break, I sewed and re-did several items and waited on velcro to finish them. So as soon as it arrives I will finish all of those items. Next I have several July 4th items (some vests and dresses) that were stored away in the big storage container of clothes I used to sell a long time ago that I want to now add velcro to and possibly sell them on my Etsy page in time for July 4th. So, my work is cut out for me...... I do read the posts by others and look at the pictures but have purposely kep quiet and not stayed long, so I do wish this board had a LIKE button I could click to let others know I did read and liked their post...........;) |
More knitting. I get to buy more yarn today :D Picked up a book on crocheting but that isn't happening anytime soon. |
I'm working on 2 dresses for a friend today. One will be big and one tiny. I imagine they will look humorous next to each other being such a big size difference. Lol. Enjoy the weekend my crafty friends! |
I just finished up a ruffle scarf, will be knitting with a bunch of gals this weekend :D |
That sounds like fun! Happy Knitting! I finished 2 outfits for ks this week but am out of action and in bed today. I've hurt my back and am trying to rest. I hope it gets better fast though because I have to make several more things for her for our upcoming vacay and her bday party. I wish I had about a week and endless energy to do all I need to do. Lol |
I am in a mad rush to get some things finished before next Friday. I am scheduled to have surgery and wont be able to drive or lift my arms or anything over a gallon of milk for a while, so I am trying to get stuff done now. It's not working too well!! |
Bless you! I hope the surgery goes well! And you can get lots of stuff done beforehand. :) |

I won't be crafting much today, got to pack up for our trip. Who knows we might bump into YT's newest celebrity, Lilo. Getting pen & paper ready for an autograph :) |
Projects I've already worked on 3 Attachment(s) I haven't been able to share the stuff I've made recently as I would have wanted. We're in the process of moving, and with Daisy's card exchange, and our vacation next week, it doesn't leave me much time for posting. But here they are. I managed to make knitted bows & pearl necklaces for the girls, and a scarf for myself. I'm going to take my working needles to CA and make another one in a different color for a special friend of mine, who happens to be Daisy's SB in our last GE. Thanks for looking! :) Attachment 371862 Attachment 371863 Attachment 371864 |

love everything, especially the scarf Good work |
There wont be much creativity happening here today. Washing pom doggie, fertilize the yard, client coming for measurements for dress to be made and picking up hairbows that I made for her little girl (not a furbaby). SIGH, maybe tomarrow? |
This week I'm going to make a few scarves for Kendra's meetup and try out a new yarn. Maybe make necklaces if I can get the measurements in. In the meantime I've been collecting fabric and came across a stash of zippers but not ready to sew yet. |
Not working on any major projects right now but I am stocking up on supplies. I finally learn how to make crochet flowers but for the most part keeping busy. I can't wait for things to slow down so I can craft more. |
I finished a dress (except for the ribbon bow) and a pantsuit today. I also cut out another dress and a few harnesses. I hope to start sewing early tomorrow and see what I can get accomplished. I want to start working on holiday stuff too. :) |
It's not sewing, but I am trying to finish painting my extra bedroom. Here's a pic so far: http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...3/a7285a83.jpg Here's what it started out as: http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...3/0023d5ea.jpg. It was my teenage daughters room and when she moved out in May, decided to claim it as an exercise/yoga/craft room. After being in it for a week, I decided the walls were too busy and I began planning something more peaceful and serene. Here is what I'm striving for (not exact, but similar): http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...3/14e3972e.jpg Sorry it's sideways. Anyway, I didn't touch it for over a month because of surgery and all the stuff leading up to it, but I decided a few days ago that I was ready and jumped back in. It's slow going, I have to stop and rest a lot but I am bound and determined to get it finished. Enjoy!! |
McheleM, I love the pictures! One of my teens is on his way out as well and yes I already know what the room will be used for. Im glad to hear that you are feeling up to some painting,it looks lovely. |
