Age of 1st Buddy Belt? How old were your pups when they got their first BB? Did you have to buy a bigger size, soon after? I am just itching to get Luma a BB!! I really don't know what colors would look good with her, because when we shaved her, she came out gleaming silver!! I think the classic pink would look nice with her coat, but what do y'all think? |
Took too long to edit but: She is 6 months in July! I feel like she's quadrupled in size since we brought her home at 11wks, but she's been the same weight for a while now, and I honestly don't think she's going to grow anymore. She is very tall and skinny!!! We don't think she's even a yorkie..she's a GIRAFFE/BRONTOSAURUS!! :p |
I got Riley his first buddy belt when he was 1-year/5-months old.... just bought him 2 more last month in the same size. :) I thought the same thing about him at that age. I didn't think he would grow anymore..... His height and length stopped at around 1-year old but he continued "filling out" until he was about 1-year/4-months old..... He is the same weight now at 2-years old then he was then. |

Sophia has the hot pink and I love it!! I think Luma would look great in the classic or the hot pink! We waited a year to get Sophia one. We thought she stabilized in size, but she's gained a pound since she turned a year and she's filled out! I would wait a couple more months to get Luma one! |
Got Bailee's when he was just about 2. We have the beautiful cocoa, and would like the pink too (but Bailee is a boy so I think the pink is out). My friend is getting one for her baby who just turned 1. I'm getting another one, just haven't decided on a color. :) |
Got Kaji's when he was 3. Although, if I had known about them sooner, I would have gotten one at 1 year 6 months, just to give him a chance to fill out some more. |
I will *try* to hold out til she's older then..no promises though! :p I've heard they gain around a pound after spay, has this held true for y'all? She could definitely stand to be a pound heavier. I like the softer pink personally, but I was looking at "Fairy Dust" and I think that one's pretty too. I just don't know if it'd come off as purple or just silver, against her coat. Tropical sea is GORGEOUS but I am not a blue girl!! I'm surprised how much I like it, actually. |

As for gaining a pound after spay, I wouldn't really agree with that. Really depends on when the dog was spayed. For example, if it's a puppy, of course she will gain some more afterwards. For an adult dog, like Uni wasn't spayed until she was 3 yrs old, she didn't really gain too much, maybe 1/2 a lbs, but her appetite got a lot better. |
I would agree to wait until she is about 1 1/2... I used the AKC Nylon harnesses before I got Riley's buddy belts and to be completely honest, he liked them, much much better. I never had a problem with putting them on him and taking him out..... Now when he wants to go out, he runs to the door, and then when I go to get a buddy belt, he runs under the dining room table. He really does not like them..... I Never had that problem with the Nylon Harnesses. :( |

I got one (or two) early, maybe when he was 4 1/2 - 5 months old. Yes, we grew out of it (actually could probably still use in in the last hole). Yes, he chewed through one (sewed it back together). We now have the next largest size - We love our buddy belts! |

Weeeeeell..I've gone and done it. I ordered one anyways lol! I couldnt help myself. I figure when it doesnt fit anymore we'll at the least have a keepsake, I'm a hoarder like that. Maybe I can give it to someone here. Would any of yall take a used BB? I dunno. It'll be a few weeks til it gets here...but I'm so excited!! You'll all have to wait and see which color I picked ;) |
