Where do you buy velcro on internet? I need some 2" velcro and was wondering if you save money buying from the internet? I want a big, big roll.......any sites you can recommend? |
I would like to know this as well. I always buy mine with a 50% off any one item coupon at Joann. I buy 2 yards, so it is like getting a yard for free, but it's still a little pricey I thought. I'd love to have a big 'ol roll of black, cream, and white. |
The best price I have found is on ebay. I give I think around 9.00 for 5 yds. 2 inch 5 yards White Sew-On Velcro Hook and Loop Tape | eBay |

I bought the 3/4 inch and sew on 2 strips... I've bought dresses that have the 2 inch velcro but they seem so stiff.... the 3/4 inch X2 seems to be softer and gives a bit more... IDK. Got 3/4 inch iron on (which helps hold it while I stitch it in place) at JoAnn's online, 15 feet for about $15.00 during a 50% off sale. |
Thanks ladies! Years ago (when I sewed as Snoutmamma's Designs) I bought 2" white, black, on big rolls, but back then we had sewing stores all over this town. It can be stiff.... I found this 10 yds for $10 something through Amazon, thinking of trying this and see what the quality is... Amazon.com: 2" 10 yds White Sew on Hook and Loop Velcro½ Style: Arts, Crafts & Sewing Also wondering if this price is good but it is compared to what you are paying. I was going to HL or Hancock or Joann's, but I'll bet it is higher there, closer to $20.............. |
Yipee! new velcro All, I bought 2 rolls of velcro from Amazon and it arrived Monday and I love it! It is stiff. It is 2" wide and 10 yards per roll, so I have enough to last a long, long time. Just want to recommend it for anyone who does alot of sewing.:daisy: |

I always get mine at walmart lol. It is only 84 cents for a yard. |
Wow! My Walmarts don't carry a 2" wide other than for walls, cabinets and things like that, not for sewing. I have bought what they have in the past as well as colored velcro from hobby lobby. I like the 2" so I can cut it in half if I need to... My next experiment with it is using Liquid Stitch to glue it to fabric....so far, so good. |

The only thing with the iron on... it only adheres to one side, so I sew through it, the fabric, and the lining anyway to give it more strength... the bands get so much use I was worried about my dresses just ripping apart one day! |
