Is this a onsie dress 3 Attachment(s) This dress also came from my new friends closet and I thought it was so cute I want to try making it myself:eek:. I have been goggling onsies and can't seem to find exactly what I need. I thought I saw some one post a dress made from onesies not that long ago on here but could not find it. What I liked about this top was it was stretchy and ribbed so it fit Lola nicely. Some of the ones I saw on line seem seem baggy. Do you know where I could get a top like this and what size would you get for a 5.5lb dog. I loved the flip flop applique and was lucky to find the exact one on line. It says it's an iron on, how do you guys feel about those. She must have ironed this on the shirt because you cannot see stitching on the back side of the skirt, but boy is it on secure. I thought that wild fabric I just got would look cute as the skirt, the colors of the flip flops match perfectly. If I was to make this for Lola, or really any dog the patch should be moved lower the placement in the picture looks good, but a lot of it is covered by Lola's hair. |
if you do the iron on following the directions they do stick like glue! i actually just ordered some from joanns to try out myself. it sure looks like a onsie or tshirt type top for sure. really cute!! |
Iron on are good, I have done a few of this onesie dresses they are easy and they wash well. hugs, |

also walmart has onesies , very cute ones too...:D hugs, |
Try baby onesies, you can get at any store that sells baby clothes. If newborn is too large, then get some preemie ones. Walmart, Target, many stores carry them in multi-packs that contain a variety of colors. |
Very cute!:D |
1 Attachment(s) I made ZoE a Halloween dress out of a onesie I bought at Walmart. I cut off the arms and bottom, made a skirt out of the left-over fabric from the bottom, and added some black sparkly beads & a ribbon. Not got a great photo of of, but you can see the what I started with and the finished product. |
Oh so cute! I need to give that a try too. We have a Carter's outlet in Hershey. |

I want to try to make a little dress out of a onesie! When Maci got spayed my mom got a set of 3, I think at target. One of them is bright pink, has a monkey on it and says "Mommy loves me." She looked so cute wearing it after she was spayed. I thought about making it into a t-shirt, but maybe I will try to attach a skirt to it too. |
I went to Carters and bought a pack of newborn onsies, they are not the thick ribbed sort of stretch fabric used in the dress in the picture. It is lightweight and cheap looking. I also went to two other baby stores and everything was about the same. Once of the gals said she swears it was made out of training underpants, so I went looking around for that and could not find, So I thin I will just have to look for suitable fabric/ Take a closer look at the picture from the back and see what you think the top is made from |

The middle picture sure does look like it could be training pants, but training pants are usually very thick, it the top bulky? When I bought ZoE onesie for after her spay, I noticed there was a difference in quality/thickness between the multi-pack onesies and the kind sold individually on hangers. |

The thing that had the gal perplexed is the opening for the dog's head, it looks factory sewn, so she could not figure out what the hole would be for if they were training pants. I am a fish out of water here because I never had kids so don't know one training pant or onesie from the next:D I got a laugh out of this, I was showing one of the clerks the dress and talking about the top, and asking her what she thought it looked like. She handled it for a while and finally said, I don't know but I could swear it looks like it was made for a dog:D:D she did not get that I was only talking about the top part. |
