crazy for fabric 3 Attachment(s) I could probably live in a fabric store, I just love looking at everything. Yesterday I went to JoAnns just for some buttons, well I came home with a few things and would like your suggestions. I rescued a piece of scrap fabric out of the trash at the last yorkie party, not sure why it was bright tropical type colors and I just loved it. Yesterday I saw the same sort of colors but on a seersucker material in a wild pattern which I loved so I bought a yard of it. Here is my thought for a dress for Lola, have straight longer type bodice sort of like on the pink striped dress in the photo but it would need velcro since it is not stretchy. I would like to add three short ruffle or pleats on the bottom, the center of the three ruffles would be the striped pattern and I would look for either one or two solid colors for the other ruffles and then I would have a satin bow around the center like in the photo with side bow or side flower, I was thinking perhaps hot pink or lime green, do you think one or two solid colors. |
2 Attachment(s) I bought this fancy fabric because our yorkie party group is thinking about having a wedding or prom theme. It's a blue/turquoise brocade. I was thinking of a LOL sexy elongated bodice, perhaps with one piece rounded draped color and little pearl buttons running down the center. I would like to do short pouff skirt with the brocade fabric in the center of two pieces of tulle. What do you guys think, if you have any better ideas let me know. This is so much fun I love being a quote un quote fashion designer for these doggie frocks:aimeeyork:p:aimeeyork |
I love, love, love the tourquoise brocade fabrics for a dress. That will be beautiful! For the first multi-coloured, I would choose a plain colour, probably orange for the skirt, myself. Two fussy fabrics would be too much for me personally. |

I love the blue brocade fabric. That is to die for and you must post a pic of the finished product. I think the other is cute too! I ordered two busy fabrics like this from Bella's Prissy Puppie Boutique. In shopping stores you are seeing more and more of things that in the past were no,no's. |
I almost bought the crazy fabric myself.... I think it will look great with a striped skirt, as all the colors match. And the ribbon in the middle is fine. On the 2nd... sounds beautiful as described.... love the fabrics!:D |
Oh...I just love both ideas! The materials are great! I can't wait to see the dresses, they will be gorgeous:thumbup: How talented you are! |
Wonderful! Both are wonderful! Yes, you are addicted.....when you get to the point, like me, anywhere you go you look at things already made and for sale, and think, that fabric would be so cute as a Yorkie dress if I had that fabric I would make a Yorkie dress __________________________________________________ ____________! With the first fabric you could make the bows tangerine orange, dark purple, aqua or any thing lighter to suit your mood..It's a good fabric. |

OK how do you spell physcodelic, I can't even get close enough for spell check to be of help:o |
So your going for a 60 look...lol I love both fabrics, I think one of fun parts of sewing for our dogs is we don't have to follow all the rules of color. Just have fun |
I love your choices! Beautiful fabrics. I myself adore bold prints together. I love the way they pop and I always get so many comments when we go out with Katie Scarlett. I think whatever you like, bold or subtle, go with your favorite. You need to love it above all. I do love the bold fabrics you put together. They make me take notice and really show individuality. :) |

That's ok, I own a sewing machine and actually know how some of it's basic functions work, and I know what I like when I see it....but being creative enough to put things together myself...oh no! I get so overwhelmed looking at all the fabric, ribbon & notion choices, I don't know how people ever narrow it down to make a final selection. |
