Tube fed baby/Puppy size Hi everyone, We are new here, and I have ques. I am getting a new baby (yorkie type :) ) next week, and my question is, does tube feeding affect size and skeletal structure? This new baby started out really small, 1 oz. and they tube fed the babies until about 6 wks. my concern is because everytime I saw them, they looked like baked potatoes  they were so fat and full all the time. Is that bad to have them get SO full everytime? I just know how miserable I feel when I over eat, and will that affect her muskoskeletal skeletal system to be filled that full all the time? I was also wondering if these little ones slow down their growth sooner than other breeds? My little MiMi is 4 mo. old and has been 1# 12 oz. for about a month now. She is very healthy but really little. Thanks for all of your help and expert ;) advice, I REALLY appreciate it. Alicia :) Minka :animal-pa & MiMi :animal-pa |
Welcome to Y.T. and congratulations on getting your new pup!! Did the mom refuse to bond with the pup?..... I'm sorry I can't answer your ?. but there is a "Breeders" section , maybe you could try in that section... Looks like MiMi is going to be a tiny one, probably under 3 1/2 lbs. grown.. |
I don't know the answer either, but I think you definetly would not want to over feed her. WELCOME TO YT, and I hope one of the breeders can help you. |

I would ask the breeder. My pups are eating mush at 3 weeks and nursing. By 6 weeks they should have been eating food for weeks. |
Thank you for all of your help, I really appreciate it. I was told that the mom didn't make enough milk. But being that full all the time had to be miserable  Thanks for the advice I will try the breeders page, and thank you for all the Welcomes, we are happy to be here :) Alicia:) Minka:animal-pa MiMi:animal-pa |
