They opened their eyes today. Sooo sweet. I can't wait till they're running all over. More pictures coming soon.

This is how this little guy sleeps a 2.5 weeks. They are playing, biting ears, growling and barking. Only have one real barker. They were 3 weeks old yesturday.

My Roxie's litter of seven turned 3 weeks on Tuesday. Watch your bitches calcium intake as Roxie had eclampsia yesterday. We got her to the vet in plenty of time (bless his heart for coming in at 6:30 in the morning) but we'll have to suppliment now. These large litters take alot out of these little dogs. They're adorable. Mine are playing as well and even pottying on the paper. It's so cute to see them sitting there taking care of business like a big dog when they're so tiny!

So sorry to hear about your Roxy......I hate those big litters and what they do to mom. Go-Go's last litter, though only 3 in the litter, were growing and gaining by leaps and bounds. This litter was climbing out of the whelping box at 3 days old and making their way to mom's cottage cheese bowl and lapping it up. I really got scared at how fast they were growing and at 2 weeks contacted the vet, faxed over their daily growth chart. He had me start supplementing the pups for fear they were taking to much out of mom.
The Wise One usually administers calcium shots (3 times a week) and steps up giving the dam's meals with litters over 4.

Six is quite a group for Mom to watch over. I hope she doesn't wear out. on another note...I have a good friend from Bridgeport, WA, Her name is Dawn Belz...any chance you know her?????

I have a question, since I am new at this. Our puppies ears are kinda floppy. Do they stand up later?
I do not know Dawn. I've only lived here three years, so don't know many people yet. I had a double mastectomy so I don't go out as much as I should.

Most come up on their own, some may require assistance. Shaving them on both sides with a mustache trimmer or a whal peanut will help them come up.
Shave about once a week.

You will need to trim the hair off of the ears. The type of trimmers that they show touching a balloon and not popping it on TV work great. You will be very surprised how much hair comes off of a little ear at 5 weeks old. I always have ears up by 8 weeks.

Sheesh, the 10th must have been a full moon....your six....another memeber's 7....and I know another lady who's Yorkie had 6 on the same day! Congrats on your adorable HUGE litter!

P.S. Not lastly, but I would LOVE to congratulate you on being a survivor and a fighter!:thumbup: :thumbup:

wow...what a litter!!!!!! they are so sweet looking. I have to say...I am shocked at their coloring with the mommy being so light!!! that is amazing. I believe someone mentioned that she was yorkie/maltese, is that right? I am just shocked at how they ALL came out looking like little yorkies :) you are truly blessed...I would love to have all of those babies in my home :) I bet you get lots of kisses :p

I was shcoked too. I thought I'd get a couple light puppies. They all look like their daddy, and oh yes, lot's of Yorkie kisses. I want to keep them all. LOL. It seems the mommy doesn't want to nurse now tho. I have to stand by the puppy pen to make sure she does. Her little nipples are ok. Do any of you know why?

Look at these. Maggy doesn't even look real. Her little mouth and nose look plastic, and her ears stand all the time now. I love her, she's so sweet. Then look at the other. He's huge. He has short hair and darn near twice the size of the rest. My Vet asked if another dog got Baby pregnant too. I said she wasn't around any others.

One of the pups we had is a proud 6 lbs, while the other are tiny. They are now 14 weeks. Peanut has the coloring of his 3.5 lb. daddy, but he has short hair. Anyone ever heard of that. When we bred them, there was only the one Yorkshire Daddy. Oh, my little Maggy is 2 lbs.
