The cloth mattress will soak up urine and feces, as even a fully pee-pad covered one will have the pads displaced through the day/night. Cheaper and more convenient to just go with an easily movable, portable, regular crate/cage of the appropriate size with a slide-out, removable base for easy cleaning, as they are chew-proof, pee/feces proof and safer than a baby crib for a puppy. Without the mattress, most cribs have large sections in the base that her feet could fall through, even with pee pads or newspapers over them.
A real plus with a crate/cage, you can regularly take it outside for a good hosing down and sunning/airing out, something you couldn't do with a baby crib unless you are Hulk size. A crate/cage is also collapsible so that you can easily carry it around or place it in your car, another thing you couldn't do with a baby crib. |
