Raksha and Rowan 3 Attachment(s) We are at the 1 week mark! One more week and they will be home! We are all set up for them and just have to go and get them. Here are their most recent pictures. I will post more updates on this thread as they grow! Their area Attachment 405725 Raksha Attachment 405726 Rowan Attachment 405727 |
Their area looks awesome! I know you're counting down the days until you can pick them up. You're giving me puppy fever all over again!!! |
I'm so excited for you!!! Can't wait till you get your babies :) |
Oh WOW you are going to have fun!:) They're so sweet and they will be very close to each other. I know you are so excited and ready for those two babies. My two that were raised together have such a sweet bond. They usually like to be touching when they nap too. Most anything we do they watch to make sure the other one comes along. Made training a little easier because they follow one another even to potty time. I can ask who wants to potty and everybody runs to the door. Have fun with your sweet babies! |
2 Attachment(s) They did great on the trip home! This is me picking them up at the house I grew up in! The puppies were born in the house I grew up in! Their grandparents (Yorkie side live next door). I got to visit the grandparents while I was there plus play with the parents as well. It was awesome! Attachment 405815 They road great in the car with no issues at all! It was a very fun, but long day to be honest. Attachment 405816 |
3 Attachment(s) This is their first day at home as we got in late last night and everyone had to go to bed. I think they are happy here so far! They are so cute together! Attachment 405817 Attachment 405818 Attachment 405819 |
It is so nice to see happy stories like this. Congrats on the new furbabies!! |
I love them! I wish I could post the video my husband took of them today but I can only put it on my facebook apparently. I wonder if I can put a link to that. I think I made it public. I would say it all started with Teek, but the puppies actually started before that when my friend asked if I would be interested in a puppy if she had some and I jumped at the chance to have a Yorkie, even if it was a mix. So, I agreed to take a puppy if she had some. Then I was given Teek, but still wanted a puppy. I let my daughter pick the puppy and have it for her birthday but then I fell in love with one of the other puppies and when I found out he was the only puppy left in the litter and was offered him, I had to jump at it. I am so Yorkie crazy now! LOL. |
Please let me know if this works. It should take you to the video of my puppies that my husband took on facebook and I have the video listed as public so please let me know if this doesn't work. https://www.facebook.com/jolene.drum...r¬if_t=like I don't know if you can click on it or if you have to copy it into your browser window. This is the puppies playing though, less than 24 hours after bringing them home. LOL |
For those people not on my facebook. This is my facebook post from this morning: Captains Log. Day 2 with the beasties. The male puppy likes to wake up the entire crew at all hours of the night and morning. The little girl puppy might need a DNA test to see if monkey DNA got mixed in as she already learned to climb out of the pen. She is very advanced in potty training and will make a great trick puppy as she is so smart. Male puppy is smart but much quieter. So they now have a mesh type baby gate going across their area. I already had that gate and I hope it works. If not I will be exploring even more options! They lost about 6 inches of space though because I had to put it where I could attach it. |
They look like they are having a fun time in the video! |
Oh Jade they are precious!! I love the video of them playing. They are lucky to have each other and you as their new mama!!! Wishing you much joy and fun with these little angels:) |
They play like that every day! They do that in the living room, outside in the grass, they do that in their pen, but usually I get them out when they are awake if I can. I don't want them penned up too much. I try to have them out when they get up around 6 am until I leave at 7:30 to take kids to school. They are asleep when I get home so are quiet until about 9:30 or so. Teek gets up at 9am, so I take him out and spend some time with him before the beasties come back out. Then I let them play outside if it is nice, or in the living room if needed from around 9:30/10:00 until about noon. Then they are sleepy again and I can have lunch and do chores around here. The usually stay in their area until the kids gets home at 3 and then back outside or in the living room until about 6. Then I put them in an exercise pen on the porch while we eat dinner out there and we play with them after dinner until about bedtime and then it is outside for a little bit and then to bed. The schedule is working out pretty well. I get as much quiet time with Teek as I can manage. |
4 Attachment(s) Here are some pictures of the puppies from their first week at home. No problems with them adjusting to living here at all. They are so happy and friendly and loving and cute! Attachment 405861 Attachment 405862 Attachment 405863 Attachment 405864 |
4 Attachment(s) Here are a few more! I love these puppies! I put one with Teek in it. He is getting used to them and becoming more curious about them everyday. I love the one where they are playing and the expression on Raksha's face is awesome! Attachment 405865 Attachment 405866 Attachment 405867 Attachment 405868 |
OMG...they are precious!!! Congratulations on your new babies:) |
I hardly have time to post with them running around. Oh my are they exhausting! Such cuties but they have way more energy than I do. They are good puppies, but like all puppies they are into everything. I did everything wrong in their set up. They hate the area I made for them. They ended up taking over Teek's crate (he doesn't use it) and decided that was where they wanted to be set up at. They cry when I put them in their area but go in the crate and are not fussy when I put them in it. All that work setting up an area for them just outside where the other dogs are at and they don't like to be in there. Raksha can climb out of anything, the little monkey. Rowan is more laid back and content to be caged up. They love the outdoors so we spend a lot of our day outside. I am getting a really nice tan without even trying to get tan, I just am outside and tan up. I love them! They are so much fun. I can't get anything done though. I hope this is short lived. I need to get my house put back together and I have lists daily of stuff to do that I never accomplish everything on. They are cuties for sure though! |
Raksha 4 Attachment(s) Here are some pictures of Raksha. She is the outgoing and going to be the leader of our pack. She is bigger than Rowan and looks after him. She is a sweetie that loved attention and can get out of anywhere. She has climbed out of the exercise pen, baby play pen and over a baby gate already. She is a big climber and loves to climb the walls of the crate and just hang out at the top, earning her the title of "Monkey Girl" already. She is a sweetie though and very cute. Rowan 4 Attachment(s) Rowan is my laid back and quieter puppy. Unless there is a hand tool going and then he barks at it to let the tool (noise) know that he is not afraid and that he is the boss of it. It is the cutest thing. He loves to wrestle with his sister and just hang out and watch movies with my husband and I. My husband is definitely trying to steal him from me. He is a real sweetie and seems to love everyone. It is hard to get a good picture of him. He is either always moving or he looks away whenever I go to snap the picture. He has much darker coloring around his face and feet than Raksha does. We love his coloring, it is so cool! I also put in a picture of all 3 Yorkies sitting in the yard watching our cat. Attachment 406030 Attachment 406032 Attachment 406033 |

I tried to remove the 2nd picture on Rowan's post because it was actually Raksha that got posted, but ended up posting again. I give up. Under Rowan's there is a picture that is Raksha. Oh well. It is so hard to get a picture of Rowan that I end up taking 20 pics of him and don't get a single good one. Then I get 3 pics of Raksha and there are 2 good ones. She is just very photogenic and he doesn't like his picture taken. They are working on Sit right now and doing very well at it. I plan to start them on another command next week and when Sit is mastered I might add another one and keep adding at least 1 new command a week as long as they are still getting them. Their attention span went from about 2 seconds last week to several minutes this week. We work a couple times a day on things. It will be more fun when we are working on more commands because it won't be as boring for them to do just the same thing over and over. Just wanted to give an update and post some pictures. I will post more in a few weeks. |
Omg! They're so cute! I can't even tell that they are half cresties! I bet it's exciting to see changes! |
Husband about fell out of his chair! Raksha and Rowan were playing in the yard and when they play, they run like maniacs after each other. We have a small koi pond (no koi yet as it isn't finished) in the backyard. Raksha was going too fast and didn't make the turn and I heard a SPLASH. I jumped up to go make sure she got out of the water. She was out before I got halfway to her and my husband is laughing so hard he about fell out of his chair! Raksha fell in the pond earlier this week and fell in head first and could not get out so I had to pull her out. This time she fell with just her back end hitting the water. They are never out in the yard without someone right there so no worries about them getting in the pond unattended. Even when they are in their exercise pen we are out there since Raksha can climb out of it easily, it just gives us a place to put them when we can't have 100% of our attention on them, but we are still there keeping an eye on them. |
Raksha is too smart for her own good Raksha is my "smarty pants" of a dog. The dogs are playing the yard and Teek is out there with us. I just lay him leash on the ground and he doesn't go far from me. Teek decides he wants to chase the puppies while they are playing so they both gang up on him which scares him. He runs to the sandy area where we are preparing to put in a patio, which is off limits for the puppies. Raksha runs after him and we tell her to get back in the the grass. She runs back to the grass and I tell Teek to come on back on the grass too. Raksha stops, turns around and sees that Teek is still in the sand. She runs out into the sand, grabs his leash and runs back to the grass, pulling him along with her and drops the leash as soon as he is in the grass and runs off to play with Rowan. All the while my daughter and I are too stunned to even say anything to her about her getting back in the grass! We just look at each other and start laughing. Raksha is one smart little cookie. If Rowan is doing something and we tell him to stop, she will run over to him and bark at him, or nip at him so that he stops what we tell him to stop doing. She is in charge for sure. Now she just has to convince our big dog that she is the boss and one day she will, believe me. |
15 Weeks old 4 Attachment(s) Here are some new pictures of Raksha sleeping on the floor and in her new pink dress. Rowan is chilling out on a dog bed and also wearing his blue camo Monster shirt. They have grown so much. Raksha is about 5 1/2 lbs and Rowan is just at 5 lbs now. Attachment 406287 Attachment 406288 Attachment 406289 Attachment 406290 |

Jade, they are ADORABLE!!!!! I will be getting two also, but the girl will come later as my breeder is breeding two of her girls, so probably won't get the girl until next April. I think it will be so much fun to a have two and wonderful for them to have someone to play with. What I wouldn't give to have them both with me here right now! Waiting is TORTURE! Love your photos of your two babies. |
I am glad you found their thread. I love to show off my babies! They are such a joy and yours will be worth waiting for. I sent you a message as I had a question for you. :) |
First Groom 2 Attachment(s) Raksha and Rowan got groomed. My sister is a mobile groomer so as a Christmas present she gave us grooms on our Yorkies. Those of you that have your dogs groomed know what that cost. So here they are. They are 9 1/2 months old and this was their first groom. Raksha is so cute! Attachment 408439 Rowan. I miss his long hair. He is cute though. Attachment 408440 |
