I am sorry for your loss. But congrats on the new puppy. Cant wait till there born and we can see there beautiful face and here about them.

You suffered a tragic problem with your puppy from what I'm guessing was a liver shunt since this is what you are worried about. It's human nature, if you have encountered something once, you expect lightening to strike again. Until you get that puppy and your vet assures he is healthy, you will worry. Best advice is to do the best you can to stay positive. Pray to God for peace while you wait for what I truly believe is one of his 4-legged angels he places on this earth for us. And of course you can always come to this wonderful community for support.

I hope this helps and puts some things into perspective for you. What you are experiencing is natural.

Now to your answer (I have shortened the quoting down a bit) Yes, it was Liver Shunt. And it was way harder than i ever expected to loos the puppy. I was so happy, my first puppy that ive waited fore for many years. And then it went so wrong. The happy life and hopes that i had for the puppy was never going to happend. I miss him.

I have not mentioned my thoughts to my husband or my kids, i try to be positive when i am talking about the new puppy. But now I have to try to convince myself that this is going to be ok. Thank you for your kind support! I am glad that i can turn to wonderful YT for help when things feels bad. I do apreciate, very much, that you shared your experience with me. It brings a little bit of hope in to my heart. Now i have to work with myself, pray to god for peace and hope for the best outcome.

I'm sorry you're having these feelings. It's hard not to worry about getting a sick puppy. I want to say it won't happen, but I can't, because it might happen. But the odds of it happening again are very, very, very unlikely. Keeping you in my prayers...

Great!! Can't wait for photos! Have you picked out a name yet? We didn't even have a list in mind. We just waited on him to name himself. It helped that we met the whole litter the day after they were born and picked our Huey out very early, so got to watch him for weeks before we took him home. Good luck and hoping for a healthy pup for you!

Marhcarter: Yeah, its great and a bit nerv wrecking too. We have named him Rocky, it was the only name that all the family members can agree on.

Have posted 2 pictures earlyer in this thread, havent got any more from the breeder. Would love to visit the puppys but they are to far away, have to wait to pick up date. And tnx for your good luck wishes.

I would like to say how sorry I am for the loss of your 6 month old puppy that must of been awful for you. Praying that God blesses you with a special new pup:)

New Fresh Start
 
First of all I am soo soo sorry for your loss. My pup is 5 1/2 mos. and I worry especially after reading about so many different things on this site. But..You deserve a healthy pup so stay positive no matter what! Try to spend your time thinking about the good things to come not what might or could happen. My Hannah is the light of my life and I'm determined to enjoy every second with her. Congrats on your new baby!!!

Only 19 days now to pick up date :) Have made a dog bed, bought a wire crate and made a crate cover, have also bought a car safety harness. So I think I'm ready for the homecoming of the new pup ;)

I did think of buying a console car seat from ebay, but it's too expensive. Do you know of a place i can buy a used one or a place they sell cheaper ones?
We're going on a trip about two-tree weeks after homecoming, (only if everything is going ok with the puppy) and a car console seat would be the perfect seat for our car.

Only 4 days now!! *BIG smile*
I'm excited and happy, and a little bit silly and.... Well, this Yorkie mom is so EXCITED!!!

This weekend we are going in two family birthdays partys, on saturday and sunday. So the weekend will fly away.... And on monday its time to pack the bag and do the final Things (Pack and final things?.... This silly mom has done it all! ;) I think....)

Today I have called the insurance company. And today the breeder took Rocky to the vet for his last check up. Oh, did i mention that Im so EXCITED??
