Upset tummy on momma Hello all back again. Been reading lots but not posting as it's a busy time at work plus puppies well need I say more. My dog had 4 puppies 3 weeks and 1 day ago. Today she's not very hungry and isn't really eating and is now vomiting up stomach acid. My vet is gone til Thursday[ we are also under a blizzard warning so we can't drive to the next town right now]. Any ideas what to try to keep her hydrated? She is more lethargic but until today all was fine. She's keeping the puppies very well fed and clean. I will post pictures later this week, but I need to know what kind of things to feed her. She's not running a fever just wants to go in her crate and get sick :( |
ok, you need to get her unflavored pedialyte and make her drink as much as she wants, or you have to seringe it on her, also get Pepcid and crush a tablet and let her eat it, mix with a bit of soft can food is ok. also white rice is ok for her and don't forget calcium if she still nursing. I have to go to a party but I will check on you later when I come home.. hugs, |
Thanks carmen to the rescue... I am working fun for me huh LOL. still on calcium and right now wanting to eat but is resting with the pups will update as the night goes on. |
Carmen has excellent advice Hope she is feeling better |
last check feeding all the babies and not gotten sick again that's from hubby update sadly i get to work on nye. |
OK now diarrhea...so something upset her tummy can it be from all the poop cleaning she's doing or her sugar levels? |
ok is probably from cleaning the babies, give her a teaspoon of pumpkin, the 100 percent pumpkin, that will take care of the diarrhea and the sugar levels.. I had to do that with Delilah, she had loose stools when the girls were born.. |
Yupper she is eating like normal today and drinking again and all is well but that was ONE scarey night thanks for the support |
