Help!!! My dog might be in labor!!!! Who knows the signs of labor? I need help! My yorkie is shaking really bad, and my dog thermometer just broke. She isn't nesting, but now shes really tired and i think the shaking stopped. is that a sign? I need help! This is my first dog pregnancy, and im really nervous. ive studied alot on this site and on other sites, and i think i know what to do but im really nervous! PLEASE HELP!!!:aimeeyork :( oh and shes due anytime now! |
Can you bring her to a vet? |
I hope you can get an answer soon; I'm just bumping so perhaps maybe someone will see this. It best to get a whelping coach before you little girl is due. Can you buy a new thermometer, and do you have all the other supplies? Do you know the signs of distress? Best of luck, I'd go to the vet, but I'm not a breeder. |

Having nearly lost one of my girls a couple of years ago to Pre-eclampsia, I also would advise you to get her to the vet just to be on the safe side. My girl came down with Pre eclampsia on her 60th day. It was the worst thing I have ever witnessed with my dogs. needless to say, that was her last litter. |
Just wondering if the OP has been in contact with anyone here or if there is another post with an update? |
Yes, now shes pushing, and she seems to calm down when we pet her. Does any one know what happens next? I went blank i'm so nervous and excited at the same time!!! Thank you all for your advice and ill keep posting with updates! |
Waiting anxiously for pups! I hope its a smooth whelp for you |
Thanks! Me too!!! Im so excited for her!!! |
I only have experience with birthing cats but Ill be watching this thread and giving you what help I can. Right now I just think your in the waiting game |
You posted this in the nursery section. If you post in the breeder section you may get more help faster. Once they start pushing you should start to see a puppy coming. If they are pushing hard for too long then you have to get her to the vet. Please re-post this in the breeder section so you can get some help. A lot can happen in such a short time and you can go from no problems to serious problems in a matter of minutes. I know....My new little girl had to have 2 surgeries and 2 stays at the ER vet when she whelped. |
ok thank you! But how do i repost it? |
Just make a post in Breeder Talk...it is about half way down the page on the forum list. A lot of breeders don't come in the nursery section so I feel you will get more help there. Once you click on that then click the new thread button and post your questions or concerns. |
