advice on tiny pup Two days ago we had a litter of 7 yorkies! Yes I said 7. Mom is doing great, and all but one pup is thriving. Most pups weigh 3 oz to 4 oz. However the one male pup hardly moves, whines non-stop from the moment born. Yes we have been to the vet, who says he is sound, and nothing is wrong with him. My breeding mentor with over 36 yrs of breeding and showing experience has been by my side assisting we have done tube feedings and eye dropers, attempted bottle, but poor little guy cant latch on even. So now we are just tube feeding. He is not losing weight, but not gaining anything either. we have never ever bred to have small pups, and she has never thrown anything this small most of her pups have all grown to be 5 to 7 lbs. So please any helpful advice, and no snub remarks. Thank you. Dee:confused: |
Has she ever had 7 pups before? That may be the reason for the size of them. That is alot of puppies having to share momma. I think 3-4 ounces is a average size. It does not mean he will be tiny. I have had 4 ounce puppies and 6 ounce puppies turn out the same adult size. Have you tried this http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...er-remedy.html |
