Puppies times 7??? 1 Attachment(s) Well, our babies have arrived-- there are 7!! 4 females and 3 males-- they are so cute and very tiny!! Please pray for us that everything goes well and they and their mama all thrive!!:animal36 |
OMG, that is a big, beautiful litter.. make sure mom gets plenty of calcium she is going to need it with all those babies... again congratulations.. hugs, Carmen in nj |
Thanks Carmen! How do you recommend giving her extra calcium-- she only had 2 the last time so I'm a little unnerved with 7!:) |
are you giving her the whelping pudding? and do you have Oral Cal at hand, also add a finger of cottage cheese to one of her meals, daily she should get a scramble egg , and plenty of sunshine... let see if another breeder with more experience can add some more.. I never had a litter of 7 , have been my top number..:D |
Congratulations on your bundles of joy! :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork :aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Congratulations on the nice litter. i have never had a litter that large but if my girls have five, the vet gives me a calcuim pill for them. otherwisee, i give them cottage cheese in the morning and whelping pudding at night with their extra meals. About a tablespoon of each. they get four extra meals of wet puppy food per day and I leave their dry down all the time. |
Bumping this up so other people can HELP! |
Congratulations on your new litter. She definitely needs a calcium supplement. Most vets carry Pet Tabs Calcium tablets or Petsmart or Pet-co carries them. I would give 1/2 tablet in the morning and 1/2 tablet in the evening. Please start her on it right away. Also make sure the momma gets plenty of quality puppy food with goodies added. Some things to add are canned Pedigree Puppy Lamb and Rice, or Pedigree Healthy Digestion or scrambled eggs or cottage cheese. Make sure mom eats at least good meals a day and her last meal needs to be right before bedtime. Best of luck with the litter. |
I have a question ladies, in your opinion which product is better for after whelp calcium supplement, bitch pills or pet tabs.. thanks, in advance, I am placing my last order before whelping with revival and i would like to know.. TIA.. hugs, Carmen in nj |
Keep an eye on her as the puppies get older and demand more milk, be prepared to start supplementing with goats milk and baby rice cereal at about 3 weeks. Weigh them twice a day and if one quits gaining you will have to make sure he gets a chance to eat without being pushed off the nipple, every two hours day and night for two weeks. |
this was posted in the other thread I started asking for help on the breeders section.. Congrats :pHope all is great with mommy and babies:D |
That is a large litter! I do pray that everything goes well for the new mommy. Questions for the breeders on here that have been seriously breeding for a while:  Does this happen often? Does anyone know this breeder with the 7 pups and only 3 total post from MS? It just seems unusual to me from reading about breeding for months now. And I'm not trying to be rude or mean, but I really wonder did just one Yorkie put out that many pups? |
