Breeding I have two yorkies, a male and a female, that are almost 7 months old. When I went to pick them out, I was told that they had the same father but two different mothers. In my opinion I feel that if I bred them it would be too much inner breeding. I did not purchase them for breeding purposes, but I just wanted to get some feedback on this issue. Any advice out there would be greatly appreciated. I have an appointment with my vet tomorrow to discuss spaying and neutering. I will let the forum know of the outcome. Thanks!! |
There are many articles on inbreeding on the internet and you can google to get your answer. This is not an easy answer unless you are going to breed for the "betterment of the breed and the betterment of their health". Your papers should show you if your pups have the same father. |
inbreeding I totally understand were you are coming from. I had the same question for my vet when I got my little girl who is a product of inbreeding. :aimeeyork My vet said that it isn't a problem and that, that's how champion yorkies are breed, they are a product of inbreeding. I hope this helps answer your question. :animal-pa |
