Ginger's First Litter...EARLY This AM!!!

:wavey: YT Family... I am so thrilled to report that I am a Grandma of four new furbabies!!! Yep, my little girl, Ginger had her first litter this morning 3 boys and 1 girl. And, all right in my lap! She did exceptionally well. No panting, not much nesting, extremely quiet and when things got a bit rough for her, all she wanted was to be in my lap. Every time I tried placing her in her whelping den, she hoped out and on my lap. So, needless to say, after covering up with my thermals and a couple of old blankets underneath with towels in hand, I finally gave in. Here are a few pictures of the Mom in labor, having a contraction, just after a contraction, resting between puppies in her den...

They are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing your family. It is heartwarming to know that Ginger is so comfortable with you that she wants you to assist.

Awh, thanks for the love! I started using ouchless medium sized hair bands with my second litter after, ribbons would come undone and nail polish was a mess because this little ones wiggle SO much. These come in a wide variety of colors, costs pennies on the dollar and are just the right size to slip over a puppy's head immediately after birth. They also allow for about one to two weeks growth if needed. Although I can usually tell mine apart within a few days, if not sooner and I cut them right off when I do. Works like a charm! :thumbup:

Aww! That is so sweet! It's so great that you allowed her in your lap while she delivered! What a great mommy!!

Congratulations on your beautiful "Quad Squad"!! So, Gwammy, do you feel any older?? :p In a few weeks you will really be having some fun with all those little feet zipping around! Good job, Ginger! :thumbup::thumbup:

Nope! Funny you should ask... My oldest son who is away in the U.S. Marines asked me the same thing...Little Snot! :rolleyes: I stopped counting after 40 and don't feel a day over 20 MOST of the time! ;)

Awww, your new little babies are beautiful! I too think that it is pretty neat that Ginger wanted to stay in your lap to have her babies. How awesome is that! Congratulations!

Kelly, I can't believe I missed this thread!! I have been waiting to see pictures of these little ones.

They are all soooooooo adorable!! What precious babies they are!! And Ginger, what a great mommy she is!! I can't wait to see how they will look when they get a little older. Of course you know I favor Daisy because of the obvious.:D

:doh34: I'm sorry Tracey... I've been so busy being a new Grandma, that I forgot to send the pictures to you. Ginger is being a wonderful Mommy and all new editions have mastered the art of nursing and are doing great! We have the dreaded tails and dewclaws tomorrow...So, I'll be giving them all extra kisses tomorrow! Nothing works better than love! :nursing:

Mommy's lap and share everything with you. What a sweetie she is.
Ginger has a beautiful coat and her puppies are just precious.
