Is it normal for the pup to be so verbal? My yorkie, Baby Girl, just had a litter of pups. In my daughter's bed. So far only three, but she is still very restless. I am curious though one of her pups is VERY verbal. It hasn't stopped crying since being born a half hour ago. Is this normal?:animal-pa Thank you for any help |
Are you keeping it warm? Has it eaten yet? Normally a puppy will only cry for two reasons, cold or hungry. So if it is crying continuously there might be another problem. |
Oh I forgot congratulatons, and keep us posted on the progress. |
Hi, congratulations on the pups you have so far. Is this your first litter? On one note, I'd say it's fairly normal for a pup to be verbal after being born....it's a cold cruel world out here! LOL But on a little more serious note, I must agree with the previous reply; I'd also guess that the new pup is either cold or hungry....or both. See if you can get her to latch onto mom to nurse inbetween birthing the next pup (if there are anymore to come) and also make sure it is warm. Do you have a heating pad in the whelping area? Please keep us posted on the progress of the pups; their weights, sexes, etc. If you have any other questions or concerns with the whelp, you may want to post in the breeder's section; there may be more there than can help you also. |
She's quiet now. Thanks, the mom wasn't nursing yet, one more pup I guess. All of the pups are now quiet and cuddled under their mom. Baby Girl is string up at my daughter, the only one she wants near her at the moment. Thanks so much for the advice. But one more question. Is it normal for yorkie pups to have longer tails? |
