Previously looking for girl puppy, now thinking about little boy....HELP! Ok, after really giving this some thought I thought I would run it by others. Here's my dilemma. I have been wanting a little girl yorkie because I want to name her Bella and I want to dress her pretty and buy her pretty girly things. My family thinks I'm crazy! They are telling me that we can get a little boy who will be just as cute and call him Bella. But I have a hard time naming a boy, Bella! Maybe it's just me? The only male Bella I know of is DRACULA, Bella Lugosi! But what about the pretty clothes? A male dog dressed in pink? SIGH! HELP! |
Do what is in your heart to do. Don't get a male just because it's cheaper. Just save a little more and get "your heart's desire"! |
When you go pick out your pup you will know :) I wanted a male at first...Then when I saw Sammi I knew she was the one right away :) |
I would say definately go w/wut you feel like (gut feeling) and wut u wanted in the 1st place. If u reaally wanted a girl, but then got a boy, u might become unhappy after u get ur pup & that'll be a huge problemo. But then again, it doesnt neccessarily mean that u cant learn to love the boy that u get. So if ur thoughts are: "I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, REALLy WANT A GIRL" & is firm about it, then I dont suggest u get a boy bc ur not gonna be happy. I really hope that helps. I always go w/my instincts bc if I dont, I kno I wont be happy w/the results, no matter how much I deny it or lie to myself. well, goodluck!! :) |
If you really want a girl then get a girl. There aren't nearly as many cute boy things. If dressing her up is one of the things you really want to do and can't, you will probably have regrets. |
:) Thank you all so much! You've confirmed what I really feel deep inside. I'm definitely going for the little girl! |
I'm sure you'll be happy with boy or girl! As long as it's a YORRRKIE! lol But, I would say go with what you really really want. And yeah, there aren't a lot of boyish blue things out there to dress boys up with! |
Bella Or Bela Ok for a guy There is Bela Karolyi a famous gymnatic coach. He was the coach for Mary Lou Reton and Kim Zmeskel. My daughter was in gymnatics when she was younger now she teaches. |
I agree with Natalie. There are plenty of cute ways to dress up little boys...that look boyish. No offense to anyone on here but I wouldn't dress my little boy up in pink. I wouldn't even if it WERE just me, but it's not, and my husband would promptly kill me, lmao. But when it comes to picking out your new little friend...remember, yorkies live for like 16 years, so make a decision you won't look back on. You'll love your dog to pieces whichever gender you get, but if you reallyreally want a girl, then get a girl. Like I said, you don't want to look back and wish you'd made a different decision. We got a boy yorkie b/c I have a girl cat and if we got a boy then genders in our house would be "even"...haha. But now my husband and I both want a little girl yorkie to add to our family....but not right away...maybe in the next year though, we're excited! |

I have a male yorkie for sale 1000 |
I felt the same way when I decided to get a yorkie. I had always wanted a little girl so that I could dress her up and make her the girliest girl around, but when it came time and I found a breeder near my home, she only had one small male left. Instantly, I knew that he was meant to be my puppy. It was love at first sight and it is the best decision I ever made. Like others have said, go with your heart and you will know when you have found the one. Whether it be male or female, there is no love greater than the love you get from your yorkie. It's priceless!! |
I love my males as pets. Their personality works better for me. Okay, I have 3 girls and 4 boys but my boys are special..My feeling is that when you go to the breeder to make a choice, you might find that the puppy picks YOU!!! |
