www.yorkieterrier.com/history.html Interesting. Like many Terriers the Yorkshire Terrier was originally bred to catch rats. The first Yorkies were developed from Waterside Terriers, small longish coated dogs, back in the 19th century. Early Yorkies were much larger, being at least twice as big as todays toy variety. A crossbreeding with Maltese resulted in the smaller dogs we have today. Interesting site to check out. justus |

I Can Take a Joke 1 Attachment(s) :) :) The Morkies ;) I seem to have had more time to take care of the litters we had. Afraid I have gotten more attached to the babies than the Wife has. It was our first litters, and I tried not to name ANY of them, but failed. Named my own name to the largest girl MOLLY today. The 2 girls are going to Washington State Saturday, by way of Wichita Falls Texas. What we don't mind going through to keep from shipping them  ha ha MOLLY and ANNIE at the Park. |

It's Is Impossible!! Impossible not to get attached. I think I did well for awhile, but when you look at 5 babies running and playing together in the yard, and caring to their needs, it is impossible. MOLLY was playing soo hard, and it just came out of my mouth"Good Golly Miss Molly!" The first thing the kids asked after they were born was what there names were going to be. I said that one is red (with a WWJD red collar) that one is green( a green WWJD collar) and so on and so on...Ha sounded good in theory, but they do all project a personal name as time goes by... hmmmm It worked for awhile. ;) justus |
