Looking for a little girl in DFW area Good Evening Everyone! :) We've been spending the better part of the last 5 months learning as much as we possibly can about Yorkies and all the ups and downs associated with them.. We have decided to make the commitment and get a little girl :aimeeyork of our very own. However, we have had one heck of a time finding a good breeder in our area (North Texas) that doesn't want us to get a second mortgage and sell our kids into slavery for the cost of the pup. We are hoping that y'all can help us out. We are staying away from newspapers (on advice), and obviously the pet stores. Thanks everyone, in advance!! |
I'm in the Dallas area. There are several very good breeders in or near the metroplex. I can give you info on the YTCA local chapter (Bluebonnet YTC) there is a a lady whom is the breeder contact /referral person. I can give you her name if you like. Please avoid the newspaper adds. There are several brokers that work the area and are bringing in pups from puppymill states. Also stay away from petshops, Traders Village, Canton's Dog Alley or any other flea market. Texas also has it's share of mills. There are several well known bad kennels inTexas with great websites that are mill fronts. The pictures look nice, puppies sound great, the breeders sound wonderful but be very careful. Watch out for red flags- Breeding mulitple breeds, breeding a large number of bitches, have numerous litters, taking credit cards, all adding up can be a warning sign. Best advice to anyone searching for a puppy is to research the breeder and trust your gut feelings. May I ask you how much you are willing or expect to pay for a puppy? Send me a pm me if you want me to help. Good luck in your puppy search |
Karri, I just sent you a pm..check your messages. :-) |
Thanks for your reply! We have been very carful when researching breeders and looking for the backyard breeder "signs".. We really haven't set a definite budget for a pup. We plan on being as picky as we need to be while making sure we don't get ripped off. We're in the South Arlington area. |
there are some breeders in Arlington as well as thru out the metroplex. Did you check your personal mail that I sent you? Sice you are new to the forum you may not have noticed the PM feature. look up in the right hand corner where it says Welcome, Karri68 in bold black letters. Click on Private Messages |

Lil mis' magic, How much are your puppys going to be (in general). I am trying to find a good puppy to and I am in the area as well. I just cant sell my kidneys to get one LOL Kim |
We are in Wylie, northeast of Dallas. We got our babies from www.yorkiepup.com. We loved the breeker/kennels, it's about 2 hours north of us near Paris, TX. They own about 125 of their own dogs that run around their ranch under surveillence. We have had our pups over a year, they are happy, healthy, well mannered, love everyone, little barking. We just had puppies today, five bouncing babies and great mommy. His standard size are very reasonable. |
