DFW area, little boys? Looking for a little AKC boy in the DFW area. I'm willing to travel a couple hours (and a little further north if towards OKC). The boy doesn't have to be an infant, but I'd be perfectly happy with one up to around 1 year old. Anyone either have a little boy around here that's trying to find a home or know of a reputable breeder in this area? Also - the ideal male will be roughly 5 lbs full grown... |
i know some one in texas that has a grand champion sired male who is going to be about 4.5 pounds comes from really nice parents and is about 10 weeks old now |
The lady I got my baby from was wonderful and her sister in law actually also breeds babies...no joke, they were soooooo helpful with him and great to deal with...my little guy is very small and I am sure they would have one to fit your ideal size..I can call if you would like and ask them if they have any little baby boys ready now or find out when they would be available. They are both very knowledgable and the sister in law is actually a vet tech..talk about awesome when you get a baby to have someone to answer all the many questions that come along with the little guys... They are around Springtown..I don't know if you are familiar with that area or not... |
Can I have information on both of those breeders please? Or a website or something? |

Yes, I saw the thread and I have talked to her, too. She's just too far for me to go get him, and priced too high for me to try to make the trip. If I spend all my moola getting the puppy, there won't be any left to spoil him :p Although, I admit, I did drool over Cody and really considered giving her a buzz... but I withheld. |

I agree... He looks perfect, but $700 and 12 hours on the road (6 each way) is a little more than I can handle... especially being a law student (which is why I can't afford much to begin with) and mom without much time. If she were closer, I may be able convince hubby to jump on it... **plots to make her move closer to me** LOL |
You will be hard pressed to find a male that will be around 5lbs full grown for less than $700. That is very inexpensive for a nice healthy yorkie. My boys will be around 7lbs and I'm asking $750. Good luck in your search, beware of people selling yorkies cheaper, unless they don't have papers (then you might find a bargain):) |
I found one that's supposed to be around 4 1/2-5 lbs and he's only $600 and 2 hours away :D He's a little hunk, too... I can't wait to see him in person. A lady bred her yorkie pets - and he is AKC (full registration) - and they stay in the house with her as her pets and such. Not a puppy mill or something that I've been so worried about. Anyway, I talked to her for a good while, and it sounds promising. We're making the trip on Thursday afternoon to check her and the pup (and parents - both on premises) out. Any specific suggestions of what to look out for? Mom and dad are 4 1/2 lbs and 5 lbs. She is also very worried about the time that we picked to see him that she may not have time to bathe him and groom him that day before we arrive... I told her that was OK (as long as he wasn't covered in poop and neglected or anything) :p She sounds very excited about meeting us and sharing her little puppy. Open to suggestions and ideas. I'm excited, but not enough that I won't turn him down if something's not right. Afterall, I've turned down quite a few looking for the perfect addition. |
Check the Dallas Morning News. You can go to their website, but BE CAREFUL! I got replies from two people giving me stories that the dogs were in Africa & all you had to do was pay shipping ... SCAM! There are a lot of option on the site though! So I would just call around and make sure everything is legitimate. :aimeeyork Good luck! I just found a yorkie and I have been looking nearly two years. |
Yes, I tried the Dallas Morning News... after finding about the 4th scam in a row, I quit looking there. That's so sad. |
It is terrible! Someone found me on here and I am picking him up in two weeks. I am very excited & I hope everything goes well for you! |
Yes, I'm very excited. Very, very excited. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much in case it doesn't work out. I've been looking for a while... and so has hubby. It just almost sounds too good to be true to finally be happening. She offered for us to come get him tomorrow, but I won't be home most of the day Thursday, and it's just not fair to bring him home and leave him with strangers (Pixie and the cats) all day.... I told her I'd be happier to come Thursday afternoon because I'll be here all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday... and Monday, I'll only be gone a few hours for school, but he'll be a bit more settled and probably kennelled while unsupervised until he learns the rules (where to pee and where not to, etc) - That and until the others get used to him... I could see someone trying to play with him and him either getting scared or hurt. Not that anyone's hurt each other before, I just don't want this to be the first. I want to make sure he can defend himself before I leave him to battle the playful kitten and yorkie alone :p The deal itself isn't too good to be true though - she is asking $600 and seems to be totally real. It's not like someone's giving him away or anything... It just feels too good :p |
1 Attachment(s) Here's his picture... he was a little younger when it was taken, but he looks like a little hunk. |
