In todays world I can see the demand for large breed dogs to become smaller and small because people like the breed but todays living conditions require smaller dogs. In the future we may see 30 pound labradors. |
Wow that was very Informative. I still have alot of questions but I have a great sense now. Nice Debate girls Noone got nasty and we had a lot of things answered. SO the Parti is AKC reconized and the Biewer is german Registry? |
All right... lots of good info. But I have a question. When anyone meets Sammie (see avatar) they beg (not EVEN exaggerating), they BEG to be notified if and when we breed her. Both parents were full-blooded yorkies that did meet standard. When you meet Sammie, it is love at first site! Her personality is unbelievable! I have not decided whether I will breed her or not, but if I do, her pups will have a limited registration and will be sold for normal yorkie prices or below. Her fantastic personality is one reason I may not breed her. She is currently in training for Therapy work and I don't want her personality to change at all, and breeding can change the personality. She is such a joy and I can't imagine not breeding to get more of her (no guarantee of course), but it will all depend on where she is in her Theraphy work. She will be working with sick and termanally ill children and that comes first above all else! I know, for a fact, that I could sell every pup she ever has at rediculous prices, but that's just nuts. I just want her babies to go to good, loving homes. So IF I do breed, I will be soooo nosey about the buyer and her home that I may scare them all off... (Limited registration or maybe no registration, as I don't want a puppy mill to get one of her pups!) I have plenty of time to decide, as she is only 11 mos. old. And she's got to be at least 2 yrs old or older before breeding her. And I'll have to find an acceptable male. (Not just any male will do...) Please don't bash me for thinking of breeding her, but if you met her, you would understand. She's a jewel! :D BTW, I do DNA certification on all my pups (male and female) through AKC. And I encourage my buyers to do the same. It's only $35 with AKC and well worth it!! Her ears are weighted down by her fur. We could shave them and tape them to make them stand up, but why??? She's too cute!!!! |

I think the parties & beiwers are beautiful too. I also think they are the newest fad in purse puppies & wonder whats next? Think I will wait til their popularity slacks off & also the price gets more reasonable. Hate to talk about a living animal like a walmart rollback but when someone is looking for a pet & a breed that cannot be shown, isnt recognized by AKC & the person isnt going to breed for profit or at all.....I know that all of those may not apply to those breeds or buyers but just my 2cents. If I wasnt planning on retiring someday I would spend all my money on dogs :) To the original poster-you never know where a post can go,lol. Good luck on your search & best wishes for your new pup. I got my girl on puppyfind.com. Lots of breeds on there. Beware of scammers & millers. |

I hate to say it but supply and demand, dictates the prices of these dogs (and everything else in life pretty much). There are probably less than 2 dozen people, who have breeding age parti and parti carrier dogs, who are now producing Parti colored dogs. Some of the better known Parti breeders have a waiting list that may take over a year to fill. Many people like a horse (or dog) of a different color and a majority of them don't show their dogs. So if they want a beautiful Yorkie of a different color (and in my opinion, the tri color is very striking and different) why shouldn't one spend their money for something that is Rare and unique. It shouldn't matter if it's their treasured pet, pampered purse puppy or future stud puppy. I don't think they are a passing fad and I do think their popularity will continue to grow (and their prices will drop) as more people become aware of this color and more people breed for this color. I've researched the parti color for the last 5 or 6 months and right after Christmas, I began my search for a Parti puppy ... he arrived 2 weeks ago from California ... I'm pleased to introduce "Kids Time To Parti" by Nikkos Russian Roulette x Nikkos Magic in the Night. |
Now he is adorable. |
he is soooo cute :) |
that is a very beautiful baby. ahhhhhhhh to have one |
Okay, I've read it a million times, but I guess I'm STOOOPID, cuz I can't ever get a grasp on the difference between partis and biewers. I mean, I get the whole, beiwers are a line out of Germany, blah blah, thing. But just APPEARANCE-wise.....is there a notable difference between partis and biewers? I ask, because I always find myself gravitating to pics of partis over pics of beiwers....or is that just in my head?! :p |
3 Attachment(s) Don't feel stupid, because the differences are very subtle. Partis can be AKC, while Biewer are registered in Germany. Partis will probably have short tails, Biewers have to have long tails. Also Biewers have to have 4 white legs, white tip on tail, white belly and white somewhere on their head. A parti can have just a chest spot. Both ARE Yorkies!!! Just a little difference in where the white has to be to be a Biewer. I have attached pictures of my Biewers at the show in Hutto, TX. Loads of fun! |
This thread has been so interesting and informative. And everyone who participated posted their opinions with such integrity. I learned a lot! Thanks YTers. |
This has been such fun to read...I, like Kathy and many others have both Yorkies and Biewers...love them all. I look at it somewhat like ice cream. I love vanilla, it's a classic, can't beat it...then along comes chocolate, then carmel and before you know it, you've got moose tracks and blackrasberry supreme. My Oh My..it just doesn't get any better. Some, will always love the vanilla, and why not, it's heavenly and perfect just the way it is. Some will crave chocolate and some revel in alittle of both. Yorkies, Parties, Biewers, just a variation on a wonderful theme...all good!! :aimeeyork Congratulations on a great job Kathy! -Diana:animal-pa Greenwood Biewers |
