I personally think he is adorable and Patti (Baby Blessing) would give him a wonderful home as would many here on YT. If you can afford to cut the price so that he can go to the best home possible I am sure someone on here will grab him up. He definately looks like he is worth 1800.00 buy not too many can afford that right now. Please keep us posted.

He would make a great stud if the pedigree is good and the bloodline has small yorkies in the background. Do you know the size of the parents and gandparents? Try to make sure this is not a runt puppy, with larger yorkies in his pedigree. He will definitely have throw-backs. Then again, anyone who wants a "pocket baby", will definitely be interested. You aren't by yourself with the terms "teacup",
"pocket baby", some people freak out at the terms. Personally I think they are cute descriptions of the size.
Hope you find the perfect home for this little guy. He is adorable with a cute, cute face.

I have to disagree. He should never be used for a stud and should be neutered as soon as he is able to. Jeff Dane sells sick and unhealthy puppies. So far this puppy is lucky but he should never be used as a stud, not with the backround of where he comes from.

He is soooo cute!! You are so lucky that he is healthy so far. I hope he finds a great home, he certaintly deserves it!!

red98vett 01-01-2007 06:28 AM

He is just ADORABLE. and I'll be the jerk that says it did bother me seeing TEACUP in the For sale subject. That isn't helping those new to yorkies and I kind of wish that wasn't there. This site is to help people learn ..... BUT - Considering where you bought him... I DO understand the use of the word teacup :(

Sorry - I just HAD to say that - I mean no offense and hope he finds a great home. ....but my personal feelings are that it shouldn't be used as a sale tool on this site. Good luck to you.

I know Jeff Danes has a rep. of selling unhealthy pups but does anyone know if he sells pups claiming them to be small to get a higher price but they actually grow to be larger?I was looking at the ad & the pup is 13weeks at 1.8lbs, my pup (not from Danes) was 14 weeks at the same weight & is fully grown at 5-5 1/2 lbs. Just wondering

Thank you to all for your posts. I can understand all of your concern after reading up on Jeff Dane. I am very fortunate that Gizmo was safe and healthy. As I mentioned before, I am absolutely clueless about the entire AKC/ACA. Baby Blessing also bought up something about Pedigree..which she had to explain to me. The only thing that I know about Gizmo's parents are that they are both AKC registered and they belong to another breeder and not Jeff Dane. I will continually take Gizmo to the vet while I am in the process of finding him a loving home.

Thank you for all your well wishes...I really appreciate it!

Actually, thank you for bringing up that Dane was not the actual breeder in your case. Some of us had wondered if it were true that he didn't breed all his dogs. Please keep us updated as to the progress of your sale. I wish you and your baby the best in this new year!! :2party:

Abbynfitchgirl-- I have read this entire thread -- You are to be congratulated for making such a huge effort to do what is best for your furkid. I sincerely hope that you are able to work something out with a fellow YT member. We have some GREAT folks here would would give Gizmo a terrific home. Sounds like you already have two GREAT Yorkie Moms interested -- Patti, aka Baby Blessing and Xtine.

Best of luck to you and Gizmo

We've assumed that he was not only a breeder, but a broker, based on the sheer numbers he goes through.

It's my suspicion (my opinion only, based on the dogs I've seen offered on his site!) that he does a lot of mix-breeding (and then fudges the paperwork to pass them off as full-yorkie), attempting to produce those ultra small pups that he charges up to $10,000 for. That would explain why so many of his pups are just weeeeeeird looking.

However, there are also really nice looking yorkie pups on his site sometimes too, like yours....and you just explained to us why....totally different gene pool. Makes sense, but I would think that any consciencious breeder would also research and realize WHAT a snake-oil salesman this guy is, and NOT sell their dogs through him. :(

Thanks Kim for keeping us in mind, I am sorry that I couldn't make a more suitable offer, both Jack and I appreciate you considering it. I wish you were able to keep him, from reading your posts you are a good mom, but it is understandable and you are being a responsable and considerate person to put his needs first. Our best wishes to you when you move to the new location and job, later on when it is the right time you will be able to get another yorkie, one of God's most precious gifts to us. I know there is a yorkie waiting for us someplace and hopefully before long we will be blessed to have another, it will happen when the time is right.

I just read your post, are you the third owner of Gizmo? In such a short time in his life, I am so sorry to read that if that is the case. I truely hope you are able to place him in a forever home. Jack and I will wait in getting another playmate for Baby Blessing, we really want another little girl and have decided to get one that comes directly from it's breeder.

Gizmo looks darling and it would be so nice if you were able somehow to keep him, it is stressful on a puppy to be taken away from its mother and siblings at such a young age, and then to go from one home to another is hard on them. We sincerely wish the best for little Gizmo and yourself. Why would you be continually taking Gizmo to the vet while you are in the process of finding him a home? If they are healthy IMO only need for vet visits is to keep shots current, and also stool check up so no parasites are visible. We do periodically have stool checked to be sure of no parasites, we have chosen to take Baby Blessing in for complete yearly check up on her birthdays and dental cleaning, and care if needed there.
Best of luck to you and Gizmo, hopefully you can keep him, he looks darling.

Kind Regards, Patti and Jack ~~and Baby Blessing~~

We hope you find baby Gizmo a good home! He is so cute. I wish we could take him (we're in San Diego too).

Annuta 01-03-2007 12:48 PM

He's a doll! I wish I could take him. Heck, I'd fly out and pick him up if he wasn't so expensive (he's worth every penny, just not within my budget). Good luck finding him a home, and keep us updated :)

abbynfitchgirl 01-03-2007 07:26 PM

Hi SassyPup-Hi Annuta!

Thank you for your posts! Gizmo is doing fine...I took him to the Vet the other day and he now weighs 2 lbs!!!

For the past few days I've been very passive in my search to find Gizmo a new home since I'm still trying to find a way to keep him. I've met a few people on YT that have extremely wonderful to me..(taking the time to answer all my silly questions)..I've even had one person contact me by phone..to offer her help, which was extremely nice!!

As I mentioned previously, Gizmo's price is negotiable since my main concern is finding him a good home.

Thank you for all your support!

abbynfitchgirl 01-03-2007 09:19 PM

Hi Patti,

I guess I would be the third owner??? I took Gizmo to the vet so that he can have his last vaccination shots...I also wanted the vet to give me a ear cleaning solution for Gizmo..kekeke..he must love that!!!!

BTW..*whispers* I also had them trim his BUTT HAIR!!! (he was not happy about that)!!!:D
