Yorkies in Ontario, Canada? Anyone know or have information on breeders of Yorkies in the province of Ontario in Canada? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve |
I am in Ontario - but my pup came from Manitoba. There is a lady in Thunder Bay that goes to Manitoba to pick up your pup for you. She has three beautiful yorkies. I got my pup 2 weeks ago and she had an 8 week old male. I could PM you her phone #'s if you are interested? Shannon |

Welcome to YorkieTalk . Can you be more specific on what you are looking for ? |
Tons of breeders around here - I contacted 15 different breeders (7 replied) when looking for my first yorkie - and they were all within about an hour or so of me. Pick up a copy of Dogs in Canada Annual - that's where I got all of my information. My two puppies came from two different breeders which I found in the breeders directory of that mag: Oscar is from Oz Yorkshire Terriers in Oakville, and Ruthie is from Rusticpride in Caledon. Both good breeders - excellent lines. Definitely pricey, but worth it to me. You get what you pay for with these breeders. Good luck with your search - PM me if you have any questions |
Stay away from Kingcreek. Dirty, Fungus infested. Will not refund your $. Kingcreek Kennel Warning. Kingcreek Kennels in Sunridge, Ontario,. We paid $1,500 for a Fungus infected puppy. Our children picked it up. Aged 4-10. Our Vet., with no vested interest, instructed us to return the dog ASAP, as our children will likely contract the fungus. They did! (Can last 10 months.) We returned the dog, and wanted a refund and a deposit on a 2nd puppy. They refused. The Kennel was a small house, where over 30 dogs lived with their breeders. We are new to having a dog, and did not realize that this was unhealthy. Stay away!.. innocent families like our. Their Kennel: KINGCREEK KENNEL (Yorkies, miniature dogs.) 229 Airport Road Sunridge, Ontario P0A 1Z0 My Name: Tony 905 520 3400. |

Hi, I don't know any breeders there, but my Mom is from Kapuskasing (sp), Ontario. We live in Texas now, big difference...no snow. My Mom says she doesn't miss the snow; we had a little in December and melted by the afternoon. She said that is the best kind enough just to pretty for the day and then gone. Good luck in your search. |

Your choice.. be aware of Everdear Perm' Registred |
Everdear vs Kingcreek in Ontario In reference to Yasminel's post of 17 Sept./09, my husband and I recently purchased a male Yorkie from Everdear, Jessica Thompson. We had a very pleasant experience with this breeder and absolutely no issues or problems occurred with our puppy. Jessica was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable with respect to the Yorkie breed. We brought Yasminel's negative comments to the attention of Jessica Thompson and she gave us her side of the story. She remembers you quite well, Yasminel, and your story lacks quite a lot of information that puts you in a negative light. If you were so poorly treated why in god's name would you take another puppy and like you said in your post, "even if I'm not really in the mood for it anymore". Maybe somebody else would have appreciated a puppy from this breeder. Somebody that was in the mood for it. Kudos to Everdear and we will ensure that word gets around about this breeder's quality of service. |
This forum is meant to share our experience, in order to help those who are in the process of buying a puppy. This is my experience, from my perspective, a 21yr old woman customer of Jessica Thompson from Everdear Perm’ Registred. My comment from September '09 is indeed lacking a lot of information. 15 lines is certainly not enough to describe the horror I've been put through. Especially that at that time, the purchase was not done; I can say a lot more about it. Just a quick example: When I went to pick up my puppy (that I was never given a picture or aloud a visit prior to that day), Jessica gave me a choice between a male and a female. Both of them were 4 months old at that time. Jessica kept both of them in the same little crate; they were sleeping one on top of the each other. When I was trying to choose a puppy, I asked her to put them on the floor so I could see how they act. She did not like the idea saying: "You know they will run everywhere, are you the one that will run after them, I am too old to run after them". She finally put only one puppy down, the other one (the female) did not look so good. When I finally chose the male, for about 2 weeks he was very goofy and bumping into things, you could just tell he was not used to walk, poor thing. This is one little example. If anyone wants more info about my experience, please do not hesitate to contact me at j_tremblay88@hotmail.com. To answer Michelle's question, I decided to give it another shot to fulfill my long desire of owning a Maltese. As my message from September said, Jessica Thompson refused any reimbursement, 1500$ was already paid in full. 1500$ is a lot of money to walk away hands empty. I had two options in my mind, take a chance and take the other dog or pursue justice procedures. I am aware that I am young and people might think young people cannot take care of dogs, I think this is what happened with Jessica. I am also aware that she has over 25yrs experience and I doubt she treats everyone as she treated me. I am sure 90% of the people dealing with her have a good experience but I am part of the other 10% and I thought it was my responsibility to speak, because it does matter. |
If you live near Ottawa you could try the Furkids yorkies. Any reputable breeder will offer a written health guarantee and ask you to visit the facilites. If you can't visit in person ask for references and follow up on them. |

800.00 for a puppy that is not registered from the American or Canadian Kennel Club is outrageous! That's over priced by well? Don't buy an unregistered puppy. It doesn't matter what the excuse, there are quality puppies available with low prices. People should not breed dogs without a good registry. |
Try faeriepupsregd.freehostia.com, the breeder was featured on the new TV series Pick A Puppy. You can even see the show at cmt.ca, episode #6. Her pups are health guaranteed, micro chipped, 2 sets needles. |
Adele Bisson! All I wanted a healthy dog with a good temerament that was suitable for city living. Good friends of mine have a lovely little yorkie who has the vigor of a puppy at 11 years of age, so I asked who their breeder was. My puppy absolutely *amazing*. Ok, I'm gushing b/c I love my little Pipa so, so very much, but yes, Adele Bisson! The FurKids Yorkies |
yorkies available in toronto hi, a friend of mine is selling yorkies for $900 and I know she has 2 males and a female. She is not a breeder but the yorkies are so gorgeous!! If you or anyone is interested i dont mind passing along any info. |
In canada most of us seriously showing our dogs are actually paid members of the Canadian Kennel Club. To start if you are wanting to buy from a breeder in Canada you can contact the Canadian Kennel Club give the name of the breeder, location, address, phone number and if you have it, kennel name you are considering buying from and ask them if that breeder is a 'member in good standing' with the club. If not ask why not have they ever been reprimanded or their membership terminated or suspended. The Canadian Kennel Club has this feature that will help you research your breeder before you go any further. |
I would strongly caution anyone who is even remotely considering buying a dog from Jessica Thompson of Everdear to run the other way as fast as you can! In 2001, we purchased a dog from her named Risky. She told me Risky was four years old and was being retired from breeding. We purchased Risky and Jessica had the dog delivered to us by her husband. As soon as Risky arrived, she ran in circles, and did that the rest of her life. As soon as she was delivered, the first words out of Jessica's husband's mouth was "She's not kennel crazy!" We had no idea what that meant, but later we discovered that Risky had spent the majority of her life in a kennel. The promised CKC papers never arrived, and phone calls and emails to Ms. Thompson yielded no results and went completely unanswered. As a result, several months after I got Risky, I contacted the CKC and explained what was going on. They got involved and several months later, after they had issues reaching her as well, they provided me the papers. At that time, it became apparent as to why she wasn't responding or sending me the papers. Risky was not four years old. She was in fact EIGHT YEARS OLD!!! I did some investigating into this breeder and was told by several reputable people in the industry that my dog had been abused and that by taking her, I had essentially rescued her. In addition, I was told that Risky had been bred so much, that she expelled her uterus. In 2004, three years after we got our precious Risky, she died of what the vet feels was likely a brain aneurysm. Do not put yourself in my position. If you come across this breeder, keep going. If you wish further information, do not hesitate to contact me at distraction3345@gmail.com. |
