Looking for baby girl in Texas
 
Hi! I am looking for a teacup yorkie. Can any one please help me find a little girl. I have looked for several months now, and finally decided to join yorkietalk.com to see if anyone could help me. The problem I have is that most of the puppies that I find are out of my price range. What can I do?

and no luck.


Keep looking, I am sure there is a yorkie out there for both of us. Just keep
the faith and it will happen!

Welcome to YT! I am so glad you came here for help. Please go to "Search" and look at posts on teacup Yorkies. There is no such thing. There are very small Yorkies, but, please read the posts and see all the problems that come with them. It will help you in your search. Also, I don't know where you are here in Texas, but here in Lubbock there are 3 or 4 ads in the paper for Yorkies. I would be happy to check into them for you if you would like. I'm sure they are "show" puppies, but I doubt if you want to spend that much, but, remember Yorkies are expensive and are expensive to raise. (Worth every penny!) Again welcome, and if someone one here doesn't have a litter, I'll be happy to check on the ones here for you. :yorkiesar

I know that I am new to the site, and to the terms that are used for describing a yorkie. When I said teacup I was thinking of a dog that weighted around 5-6 pounds. Anything smaller than that would hurt itself when ever it sneezed. Sorry!

We just got our yorkie !!! From the local animal control facility for $25. She was found wondering around and was picked up. She was collared and well fed, but no one came forth. SHe is suprisingly housebroken as well! You'd be suprised what you find at shelters and adoption facilities! We'd been wanting one forever, but honestly didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for a pet. She's a great dog thus far (haven't had her but for a day) and I'm glad we waited and put off buying one.

Well, in that case, you're just looking for a standard, healthy yorkie. Standard is under 7 lbs. A lot of people think in the 3 lb range when talking about teacups.

Hi! thanks for the advice. I have looked at the animal shelters in the area, but they don't have any. My mom adopted a cocker spaniel from the local animal shelter, and thats what I had in mind, but it hasn't worked out that way for me. I was hoping to get a small dog so that when I go to see my grandmother on the Sunday afternoons I could take the dog inside with me so that she could let it set on her lap. course thats not the only reason for getting a dog, but it brings some joy to her. She loves dogs, but when she had to go to the nursing home she couldn't take her dog, Bobby-Sue, with her. After just a few months of being in the nursing home Bobby-Sue died. I was so heart broken for my grandmother it took me weeks to tell her about her dogs death. You would be suprised what difference something as small as a dog can do for older people in the nursing home. I just wished they would let people, like my grandmother, keep their animals with them when they have to go into the nursing home.

I don't see how people can have an animal that small and not kill it by accident. It could serously injure a dog if you stepped, or even sat on it. I know that I could not have a dog that small around me.

Where in Texas are you located? I have a male and a female pup available now. Both parents are 5 pounds. From the looks of these pups, they should be right there in that range. I'm located in Oklahoma. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send pics.
