Looking for Breeders in MD
 

Hi I am located in Maryland, and interested in purchasing a female Yorkie. Is there any MD breeders here or does anyone know of any?

I got my yorkie from Tiffanys Kennel in Pasadena,MD. He was left over from a previous litter. He has a great temperment, rarely barks,loves to be held and on the lap! I would definitly recommend them, there dogs have a long life expectancy too, Bentley's grandfather is still living! If you want to find out more information about them just go to shooterdog.com and scroll down to the bottom and click Shooters yorkie breeders network and then click Eastern US at the top. Then scroll down to Maryland and I think they are the second breeder listed.

Yep thats Bentley! Well they asked 1,200 for him but they took 200 off because his testicles never dropped and they couldnt show him. At the time they said he had a hernia too but the last time I went to the Vet he siad it had ethier dissappered or it was just a testicle the whole time!
I wish you the best of luck finding a new puppy!! You can also try looking at baltimoresun.com under classifeds they usually have yorkies listed in ethier Maryland or Pennsylvania.

[COLOR=Red]Please, please walk softly and carry a huge stick if you look for puppies listed for sale in the Balto Sun. Many of the puppy millers in PA, mostly those of Amish or Mennonite cultures, run some of the worst puppy mills in the country. Only second to MO..Also, many are from WV which is not an indictment of all breeders, but they do take away their babies and sell them at SIX weeks. They advertise in that paper as well as the Wash Post.
I do not have puppies to place, but I would be more than happy to assist you in finding a healthy, well-socialized pet.
The Tiffany Kennels have wonderful dogs and many of them are in the background of a lot of show dogs. They are in the background of the Yorkies I bred. They might know of friends in the business who have puppies to place. I can give you names of at least 6 show breeders right off the top of my head in MD and 3 more in PA.[/COLOR]

Thank you soo much for informing us of the puppy mills in PA. I was not aware of that and definitly do not belive in puppy mills or pet shops what so ever. I was wondering if you could list the breeders you know in Maryland and if they have any websites because we are thinking about getting a second yorkie and now is the best time since he is still young. My family got our Yorkie when we were looking through the Washington Post, and the breeder was GREAT! If you do decide to look through classifieds, make sure to ask the breeder really particular questions. My family only decided to get Tristan when we asked the following questions:[list][*]When were the puppies born?[*]How big are the parents?[*]How many litters has the dam had?[*]How long do you wait between litters?[*]How many dogs do you have that you breed?[*]Are the sire and dam on site?[*]How old are the sire and dam?[/list]Of course, make sure that you can see the sire and dam and puppies (all of the litter if possible) and interact with all of them. We chose Tristan because he was really inquisitive and liked to play with everyone. We also liked that the breeders would do a telephone interview and an interview in person to make sure their puppies were going to a good home.
I don't know when Tristan's breeders are going to breed again. He was born in November, and they said that they wait at least one heat between each litter (the dam has had 2 litters, if I remember correctly). So if you want to wait to get a good puppy, I can find out when they're going to breed next and tell you. They like to keep in contact with the families that bought their puppies.
