You wouldn't want a 90-pound adult human, so don't get a 3-pound adult Yorkie! | I think 99.9% of members of this board are against the term tea cup (which I don't even think the OP used) and are against breeding strictly for little pups but to make a blanket statement that you cannot have a healthy yorkie under 4 lbs is very offensive and absolutely not true. I have 3 yorkies in my home.
Gracie, 9lbs has mild LP and reverse sneezing
Spike, 4 lbs perfectly healthy
Sugar 2.7 lbs has never had one single health issue
My mom has 2 yorkies
Alfie, 6 lbs severe reverse sneezing and probably developing LP
Sophie, 3 lbs perfectly healthy
I don't see our little yorkies health as an exception to the rule. They prove the rule that responsible, respected breeders produce healthy dogs even though occasionally some pups turn out smaller than expected. I know that there are plenty of irresponsible breeders breeding strictly for tinies and not health- surprise! Unhealthy puppies. That is just absolutely not the case with all little yorkies. |
