Looking for adult female!!! I am looking for an adult female for sale. I need her to be able to be bred. Please contact me asap. |
there is one on zoomommy.com in knoxville |
I can't help but ask, what is your hurry & how long have you been "breding" yorkies? |

No reputable breeder is going to sell you a Yorkie for you to just breed like this. If you are going to do this, you better be sure of the health history behind the lines and whether or not these two Yorkies should be used in a breeding program. |

You should check the pedigree and the health hostory... you should buy from a reputable breeder; in the other hand, are you a breeder? Quote:

No offense, buuuuut...considering your situation (as in inexperience and knowledge regarding this breed and breeding) I seriously doubt your are going to find someone respectable to just turn over a female to you for breeding--please don't be shocked if you don't get the response you are looking for. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54119 My advice would be to look for someone in your area who is experienced that you can work with, learn the ends and outs BEFORE breeding AGAIN. If you take the time to get some good info and experience first, you'll be much more comfortable with breeding when you start. Good luck with your program, search and progress.:) |

okay, why do i get the feeling that i am being attacked???? all i asked for was a female that was able to be bred.. i meant not spayed.. most of the time i have found in my many months of searching for another adult female that most of the adult females are retired and for sale on a spay contract. that is all i meant by being able to be bred... i have two yorkies of my own and currently have a litter. no, i havent been breeding for very long, but i have read every book there is, my "mentor" if you will, has shown dogs in Westminister many times with wins!!! i have a great friend, who happens to be a vet that i can call anytime. oh and of course i have checked bloodlines, pedigrees, and so on... i love my dogs, and i would NEVER just buy a dog. i just dont understand why all of you assumed all of this. i dont " just breed like this" I think that was the quote one of you made. all my post read was for an adult female that wasnt spayed. Maybe i should rephrase my post:::: if anyone knows of an adult female for sale please contact me. i would like more information. thanks |
oh, and about the link you posted above, i have heard such good things about this forum, i thought that i could come here and ask a question, to get an answer. Thankfully, some people here are willing to help, as others are so quick to judge my knowledge of the breed. i know that every breeder on the forum had their first litter at one point, right. why be so quick to judge me? i love my animals and they are treated like my children.. i would never put my dogs in a kennel, or cage, or leave them outside. as do alot of breeders. Honestly, i would rather sell my dog to someone like me who never lets their dogs out of their sight, than do like alot of registered breeders, and let them live in kennels, only to come out to potty, breed, or deliver.. |

I am really confused now because if you have a mentor that has shown dogs at Westminster would that not be the best place to start looking for another Yorkie? If he/she doesn't have anything, I am sure he/she would have contacts out the kazoo for you. good luck in your search when you contact your mentor. |

Yes, i have been to shows before. Listen, all i want is a small breeding program. Every contact i have had over the last few months is more interested in selling their unspayed female to someone who will treat them as a pet, and not to "use" just for breeding. And of course, he is helping me find another yorkie. I heard that this was a wonderful forum and had some great members and breeders. I thought i would check it out. i just do not want any of you to judge me when i have only posted very few times here. all i was doing was asking . i will be happy to find another site. thanks |

Now, that being said, I don't think anyone here can make any assumption BUT that you were a novice. Read back over your other thread...you didn't even know that they had to have their tails docked for Pete's sake...that, to me and others apparently is a picture YOU painted--one that you were uninformed on the breed. Guess maybe your mentor and books forgot to tell you that? Again, I was trying to be nice, as I think several here were. You didn't clearly state your intentions or reasons why you wanted an unspayed female. Why would you lash out because others tried to get you to clarify that? Geez, sorry I posted at all. I forgot I needed a flame-proof suit to post anything these days. |

Oops...double post...sorry.:( |

My dogs are all my pets first, running around my yard, my family room, curled up at my feet, played with pampered and not at all what you are describing that you think a reputable show breeder would be doing with their dogs. I have many friends that think the same way I do, their dogs are first their pets. Not all are alike in how they keep their dogs but then there are many homes and owners with pets that aren't very good homes either. That's my job before I place a puppy for pet, to be sure I have determined this is a good home. If you are talking about people that just buy to breed that is a different kettle of fish entirely. I don't agree with that either. |

This is a wonderful forum and in spite of some of the negative posts, you have come to the right place for your answers. i have a brand new, just started breeding program also. I don't intend to get any larger than what I am now. I have learned a lot from some caring experienced breeders on here and you know what? the others just don't matter. Like you, i went thru some things here too when i first joined. I am an avid reader of all the forums on this site and i have learned that there are a handful of people that will always attack a new breeder under the guise of educating. pay no mind and just continue what you are doing with your research and your mentor. Good luck with your search and if I, in my very limited knowledge, can help in any way, just pm me. |

lady asked a question and got back some opinions that's all. If someone is will to sell a adult bitch to someone there has to be something wrong ( or they would have kept her and bred her ) think about it AND if this lady has a mentor (Westminster winner) he should have told her the same thing or sold her a bitch ( hence the word mentor). There is so much more to breeding that meets the eye ( fronts ,rears, movement, color, temperament TOPLINES) if you breeding dogs with faults soon the dogs will look nothing like a Yorkie ( I have seen them - people coming up to me saying I have a Yorkie and the only thing Yorkie about the dog is the color and that is BLACK and TAN ( soft or wooly coat) and that is two faults wrong color and texture. There is a reason for a standard ( its called Type) here is what I try a live by The following is by Dr. Sophia Kaluzniacki, and is reprinted with her permission 10 Rules of Ethical Breeding The only reason to be breeding purebred dogs is to preserve the best qualities of the breed. Breeding to supply any market is not a justification. You need to do all of your breeding with the best interests of the breed in mind. Never your pocket book. For this you need to be a serious student of the breed and devote years of your life to it. No "in one day, out the other". As a beginner you need to engross yourself in the breed as much as possible and ideally find a suitable mentor. In order to be a serious breeder, you must show and compete. You need to keep track of all puppies you produce, whether pet or show, to know how your breeding program is working. All pet dogs need to go on a spay/neuter contract. All show puppies need to go on a contract that will not allow breeding unless the dog lives up to the quality intended and passes all health checks and certification necessary for that breed. If a prospective breeder does not want to do this, then I am sorry but they will have to mess with someone else's dogs not mine!! Co-ownerships allow you a certain amount of control in this regard because they require your signature in order that puppies be registered. The latest news from the AKC is that there is a pending change to the rules that will not allow registration unless all papers are properly signed. If you have a difference with your co-owner it will need to be settled in court before the AKC will register litters or puppies. This is new and still pending, but a step in the right direction. Every breeder owes to the breed and to themselves to be involved with rescue. Every breeder should be prepared to take any dog back for whatever reason. If they do not have the space, then they need to be prepared to make other arrangements. But take back they must! In my ideal world one could not sell dogs. They would only be able to be given as cherished gifts to deserving individuals. This would eliminate the whole pet mill and back-yard breeding industry as they could not make any money. Of course since this world is not the way I envision it as regards dogs, we have to work within the system. So I do charge for puppies and I charge what I think is fair for the time and effort I have put into it. It is certainly not enough to cover all of the expenses. If someone cannot or will not pay my price then let them go somewhere else or take on a rescue. There is nothing wrong with paying a lower price and certainly very noble to rescue. Well I will now get off of my soap box :) Dr. Sophia Laurie Hunter and the NicNak Yorkies www.nicnakyorkies.com |
Oh for the love of Pete  .... She was not attacked. She asked a question, she got answers. Period. |
Like others said why dont this person get a bitch from their mentor instead of coming to a forum to look for a dog? |
Nicnak i just looked at your website.....it is scary....at first. you do have beautiful puppies |
