Looking To Buy A Yorkie Puppy On Long Island Ny
 

HI, I AM NEW TO THIS SITE AND WOULD LOVE TO BUY A BABY YORKIE, I DO NOT WANT TO BUY FROM PUPPY MILLS OR PET STORES. I WOULD LIKE TO BUY FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS THE PARENTS AT THEIR PLACE. IF THE PRICE IS REASONABLE, I WILL EVEN BUY 2 OF THEM.
MY DAUGHTER IS ON THIS SITE AND SHE IS CALLED " STINKYSMOM ". EVER SINCE SHE RESCUED THIS ADORABLE LITTLE GUY, I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH YORKIES AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE EITHER ONE OR TWO OF THEM. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN BREEDING AND AM MOSTLY CONCERNED WITH THEIR HEALTH. PLEASE WRITE BACK ASAP IF YOU HAVE ANY YORKIES FOR SALE OR KNOW OF ANYONE ON LONG ISLAND OR THE EASTERN PART OF QUEENS NY.

good luck with your search...theres lots of great breeders on here, though I don;t think any are located on Long Island. If you don't mind a little drive I'm sure you'll be able to find one...

I found this website, they are on Sunrise Hwy, Bellemore, NY. But I am not certain if they 'breed' the pups or bring them in from "other" places .... I found them on the net, so I am not recommending them as i never dealt with them at all ..... call and find out.

I've seen this store...its a pet store...I personally wouldn't trust them...

Jeez, I don't know what to say, there aren't many 'breeders' on Long Island but there are some pet stores... Lynbrook, Albertson, and one on Jericho Tpk.
go check out the stores and see if they keep the pups clean and well fed ... hopefully they deal with reliable breeders ....

Most pet store puppys come from puppy mills..just because the cages are kept clean and they are well fed does not mean that they are from a reliable breeder, it just means the pet store is caring properly for them...

exactly.. and they usually only do the bare minimum required by law. They are trained to poop and pee in their cages, usually all by themselves so usually people have a hard time housetraining them. Not to mention the health problems that many eventually encounter. You also never know what you'll get since you don't see the parents. I ran into some people at the vet who thought they bought a yorkie from a petstore and it ended up being half yorkie half maltese. They were upset because they had paid a lot of $$ for the dog. At least they loved it and kept it though. Oh, and another lady I had met at a yorkie meetup bought a "yorkie" from a petstore and it ended up looking like a mix as well, when she tried to put the AKC paperwork through it didn't work and the petstore ended up closing down.
Good luck with your search. I'm glad you're working hard to find a good breeder. Just remember to meet the parents and look at where they keep the dogs. You usually find more brokers than anything else who usually sell for puppymills and get the dogs trucked in from other places. In a way, they can be the same thing as the petstores and are only out for $$, so be careful.

I dont live on Long Island anymore I now live in Ohio. But my mom lives in Wading River. I have 5 puppies available 3 females and 2 males that will be ready to go November 27. If you are interested mabie I can take a trip to visit my mom :D . I own the female and my mom owns the stud. Amber weighs 5 1/2 pounds and Toby weighs 2 1/2-3 pounds. They are both AKC. Good luck on finding your baby. There a quite a few good breeders in the NY/NJ/PA tri-state area.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy from a pet store. Reputable breeders will not sell to a pet store. In fact the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, to which good breeders will subscribe to their published code of conduct and ethics, states that a breeder will not sell to a pet store or other establishments (read: brokers).

I wish I could help but our next litter isn't due for a few months. Try Sylvan's Yorkshire Terriers in northeast PA. She might have puppies available.
