Looking for a black and gold female like this pic.

My friend is looking for a female yorkie pup with the same colors as what the pics are I am attaching. But the parents need to have this coloring for the puppy to mostlikely have the same colorings.
She has found one person who comes close but is still looking for another.
Thanks and please look at the coloring in the pics.

Good luck. Those colors are very similar to what I was looking for. Let me know if she finds a breeder.

We know one breeder but all she has is males right now.
But will let you know if and when we find another with females.

He does hve simular colors to your girl. Can I ask where you got her from?
Breeders with these colorings are hard to find.

This is probably not pc, but is this what they mean when they say "chocolate yorkie"? The dogs in the pics are truly beautiful!

No these are just richer, darker colored yorkies. A chocolate yorkie is brown and has liver colored eye rims and nose and is considered a genetic default with lack of pigmentation.

Just curious, does akc accept chocolate yorkies since it is considered a genetic default, I was not thinking they did, just wanted to know. I was thinking they only accepted black & gold, blue & gold, blue & tan, and black & tan. Also, if they don't has there been any consideration or attempts for akc to recognize this color??

The colors you listed are the only colors listed on a Yorkshire Terrier AKC application so I guess you would have to pick one of those so although you could register by picking one of them it would be a false registration. No they will not attempt to recognize this color because it is a genetic default. I don't know of any other problems with this color, but genetic defaults in color usually have related health problems with it.

But the picture of the pup you showed is not what I am looking for. It is cute but not the rich colors like I have posted.

Those dark colors are hard to find because most breeders don't try to get that color. It is my understanding that black yorkies often end up with cotton coats so be careful.

Thanks for the advise but I know about their coats as I have one like that boy now. Just wanted another female....I love the coloring.
