Wanted: Biewer Terrier Hello everyone, =) I'm new to YorkieTalk and I think this thread will double up as my intro and want ad. =) I've been looking up for information on the general Yorkshire Terriers and I was lucky enough to stumble up this forum! So I just wanted to wave a hello! I've been saving up and doing some reasearch on the Biewer and I think its finally time to take a stab at buying one. However, I'm stumbled upon some difficulities in getting references and such for a reliable breeder in these gorgeous dogs. Yorkshires are a new area for me, I've been involved with only Shih Tzus. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good reliable breeder who doesnt charge an arm and a leg? They can be preferably located in Germany, I've got relatives from there who can help me with the translation and since they're flying over here ( Canada ) for a summer vacation, Im hoping they'll bring the little bundle over. I currently own a 4 year old Shih Tzu and I think he would love to have a little sibling around. =) Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D Thanks in advance=) |
Good luck on your search for a Biewer! I think they are so pretty! :) |
itspuppyluv has a Biewer named Gus Gus...he is GORGEOUS!!! Here is her gallery: http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...00&ppuser=1251  |
Here is a link I've found of someone in Germany. Biewer Breeder in Germany She has sold puppies to some people I know of in the US, and the puppies are beautiful. She is also a member of another yorkie forum of which I am a member. I contacted her a few months ago about buying a biewer, but the puppies are a little out of my prices range due to the strength of the Euro to the US dollar. :( She was very nice and responded quite quickly. Good luck, and please let me know how your biewer purchase goes. I would LOVE to purchase a biewer eventually as they are so beautiful!! Susan |
Oh, man!! OHHHHH!!! I want one now!!!! |
My apologies for the slow replies and bringing this old thread back up. And Thank you YappyScrappy and centralnewyorki for the new leads. Up to date I've found about 3 available litters of Biewers with help from relatives in Germany and the use of the internet. Yet, I still havent found the "one" yet. I've looking for quality, color and health. It's seems like a long road, but I'll continue searching! I'll definitely post updates if anything emerges! =) |
How about this one? Im not sure if these pups are what your talking about. They look like they are. Here is the email if your interested. crownridgegems.com Jess |

Biewers are different in many ways and I'm sure others here can tell you more on the differences. One I know is the coats are different. Biewers are from Germany. I've also read somewhere that you should not breed a biewer with a yorkie. |
Yup, those are Parti Yorkies not Biewers. =) Although they're all still derived from Yorkies. Biewers are Yorkies with the piebald gene. The Germany Breed Standard of a Biewer: - Head: Must have three colors all in good symmetry (Black, White, Gold) - Tail:Tip must be white - Neckband:Must be white - Legs: All Four Legs must be White - Back: Either a full black or white and spotted black - Belly: Must be White - Hair: Must be glossy, fine and silky -never curly - Other like body, teeth and ears are similar to the normal Yorkshire Terrier. And thats true, you should never breed the Biewer with a Yorkshire because you'll impure the breed lines. The litter would consist of pups with and without the piebald genes. Thus, when you breed the pup with the piebald gene (thinking its a pure Biewer) to another Biewer, you MIGHT end up with a regular Yorkshire. |
My Biewer Hi I have German Biewer, Isabella. go to my album if you would like to see her..I can refer you to a breeder if you want..PMme. |

Um they are the same thing but the biewer allows for bigger sizes. The same gene but different standards. They can be bred but not registered with anybody. |
