Puppy Boutique, AKA Puppy Petite is Bad News for Puppies Quote:
His condition was verified by three vets and it was determined that he had a congenital disorder. Puppy Boutique still refused to return my money or exchange my dog. I have no other choice but to pursue legal assistance now. They do not sell good, healthy puppies and they have poor customer service. Please do not purchase from this pet store, they have negative ratings from Consumer Reports and have changed their business name a couple of times to stay in business. They are known as Puppy Boutique and Puppy Petite. They are rated as unsatisfactory by the Better Business Bureau. Please help spread the word. |
Puppy Boutique Is Very Bad News I'm sorry for the loss of your Yorkie pup. Today I met a woman who said she bought her Yorkie from Puppy Boutique when he was 6 months old. She said he started having trouble walking. She took him to the vet and there was a problem with his hip socket. It wasn't the way it was supposed to be and he had to have surgery. Now he is fine. She took Puppy Boutique to small claims court for the vet bills and won, but PUPPY BOUTIQUE never paid her for the surgery. She also said a woman on the next block bought a Yorkie there and she had the same problem. Puppy Boutique gets truckloads of puppies a week. Report them to the Better Business Bureau. You can do it online and go to the Humane Society website and you can download forms to report them. Good Luck. |
Puppy Mill Pups from Pet Shops Sorry to hear about the horrible experiences with pet shop pups. It really drives the message home about the dangers of buying from those poor pups from pet shops who get them from puppy mills. I live in near a pet shop in Yonkers (the next town over) called Exotic Warehouse that sells puppies. Back in January, I went inside, just to look, to be honest, I had been looking for a reasonably priced Yorkie for a while and was getting a little desperate! The shop was horrible, dirty and smelly I was immediately turned off. But, there was a teapot Yorkie, 16 weeks old and had to weigh 7 - 8lbs, for only $400! He was also EXTREMELY timid, apparently from lack of human contact. My heart went out to him but I managed to walk away knowing the dangers of buying from a pet shop. A month later, I ended up rescuing a pup from that same pet shop. I bought him for $200 from someone who originally purchased him from EW. He is also a teapot - at 9 months he weighed 9.5lbs. He is the strangest looking Yorkie because he does not have the gene to grow the long coat the breed is known for. However, I could not resist because he seemed to be in an abusive situation and I could not leave him there. He was also VERY hand shy, (I think from being hit) timid and has luxating pattella, grade two, both knees. In spite of it all he is turning out to be a real sweetheart, I am glad I rescued him. But he is a lesson we all need to keep passing on - stay away from pet shops. These puppy mills are really ruining the breed. |

Possible Puppy Mill Well, after doing a bit of research, I found out that my little baby that passed away was not from a local, trusted breeder as Puppy Boutique said. He's actually from a suspected puppy mill in Iowa. I'm still doing further research on where their dogs really come from and I refuse to just let this go. In addition to taking them to court, I plan to spread the word about their dishonest business. If anyone has any tips on reporting them, research, etc. please let me know. |
I called the ASPCA and maybe you should also- there have been ALOT of claims against them- they should be shut down. |
