Hi everyone! I am reducing the price on this big boy to just $600 to find a new home for him quickly as more puppies will be arriving from our stork very soon! He is currently 10 weeks old and weighs around 5 lbs and we estimate his adult weight to be between 10-13 lbs. If you have kids and always wanted a yorkie to love, this guy is for you! He is so sweet and has such a wonderful personality, loves to play and lay in my lap. He is just a big sap and so adorable. Please correct me if I am wrong, because I am new here and new to the Yorkie world. But I thought I read where a Yorkie, to be AKC registered, couldn't be more than 7lbs. Is that right? Please understand, I am not being a jerk....I just really want to know if there are limitations like that. Thanks.

The size of a Yorkie has nothing to do with AKC registration. It has to do with the standard, which is the blue print for breeding. A breeder should strive to stay within the standard..meaning, breed Yorkies that stay 7 and under. AKC would register a 20 pound Yorkie and if breeders are not careful that is how big they could get..

There is nothing wrong with a big Yorkie, we love them all, but a breeder who wants to produce to the standard, and IMO that is the only reason to breed..for the betterment of the breed we adore...that breeder will make every effort to breed correctly..IMO.
