Looking For A Good Quality Yorkie Hi, this is my very first post in yorkietalk. I have been looking for a healthy yorkie for about a year now. We're a loving family that will provide the utmost care for our new puppy. I'm located in New Jersey, but am willing to travel in order to get a healthy pup and/or have someone ship it to me, however; I'd pefer to see the pup before I buy. I have encountered breeders online that are just looking to sell to anyone, and people selling yorkies without the mother or father of the puppy on site. Such examples are yorkies coming from Brazil or Ireland. For the good yorkies I do find, they are priced over 2,000 dollars and have already been sold by before the pup is even born. I want to purchase a relatively small yorkie. About 4 lbs or so, and not looking to spend outrageous money. Around the 1,000 to 1,500 range is reasonable to me. I want to purchase a male yorkie that will have no genetic defects, or any considerable large problems in the near future. If anyone knows of any decent breeders that have a good reputation and have a litter upcoming, I am willing to wait. Thanks in advance. |
You have come to the right place to research and learn all here is to know about this breed before buying you rnew baby. Good luck in your search. |

Hello CNJYorkie....I'm from cnj myself...in Lawrenceville. Like you, I have been researching breeders and looking everywhere for a great Yorkie pup from a reputable breeder. I feel so blessed that I have found 2 great breeders...one in the SNJ area and one in DE. The NJ breeder's website is http://www.topknotchpups.com and the DE breeder is http://www.pupepalace.com. My baby girl yorkie was born 2/1....so I am so excited to finally get her! (I decided to go with the breeder in DE). Both breeders are reasonably priced with great reviews. Anyways, I hope this helps you out a bit....who knows, maybe our pups can meet for a playdate, lol. :aimeeyork Good luck!! :) |
JMO - but never liked the idea of people purposely breeding mixed pups -Topknotch does (shows on her website). But that is just how I feel. There are so many unwanted pups - better to adopt a mixed breed from the Humane Society and give them a great home (and in some cases save their life). P.S. My original kennel name in Florida - back in the 80's was Topnotch Yorkies. T. |

I agree....if someone wants a mixed breed dog, they should definitely get one from their local shelter. However, the toy mixed breeds are the new 'fad'. For many, being a breeder is their only job....they have families just like us. And in order to provide for their families, they do have to 'go with the times' and the supply and demand. ....still....I can't imagine paying thousands for a mixed breed, lol. :animal36 |
Hopes this helps..... If you go onto the topknotchpups.com website, you'll see they're advertising a male yorkie "Luther", 12 weeks old, for $975. http://classifieds.breedersclub.net/.../PupLuther.jpg Also, there's another one..."Kal", 9 weeks old, for $975. http://classifieds.breedersclub.net/...ies/PupKal.jpg |
Thanks for the help! But I'm quite picky on choosing a dog...lol...I want an adorable face in which "I Fall In Love With"...after all I want to find "that special" yorkie... |
Does anyone know this breeder? http://www.yorkiecity1.com/images/82.jpg?20060201172602 This dog is so darn cute! |

jmo...I am seeing pet quality not bred to standard on these sites...and pup e palace has only a 7 day guarantee for a replacement pup sometime within a year. Anytime I see paypal/credit cards option it doesn't speak well for motivation in breeding....and can they not be bothered to trim ears? like I said, jmo. |
I have two pups from Gloria. She is an awesome lady and always there for you 24/7. She has a two year guarantee and excellent, impecable reputation. Her website is www.chrismarkkennels.com....She shows her kennel pictures etc on her site. What you see there is EXACTLY what you get. Good Luck! |

AKC Tiny yorkie male Hi there! Did you ever find your perfect yorkie puppy? If not, I have 1 available that will be 3.5 or under as an adult. He is an absolute doll and you can see him on my website at www.picturetrail.com/rascals He is the one in my son's pants pocket.....lol. He will be ready to go to his new home in 2 weeks when he is 10 weeks old and has had his first shot and been vet checked. His mom and dad are both under 4 lbs, Lacy and Teddy Bear. The price for him is just $1200 and we are located in Northern NY. Hope to hear from you. Debbie & the Rascals gang :animal36 :aimeeyork |
3 Attachment(s) This is a male that we have for sale. He's supper cute. He is AKC and both parents have been showed (APR) and are championed out. He is around 4.5 lb and shouldn't get much bigger. His dob is 7-16-05. The only problem we had with him is that he is the same size as one of our girls (we are very small and only keep one male) and we would like to get a smaller male. He does work and has gotten a girl pregnant and he is very easy to AI with. He does have a full AKC reg. We are asking $1200 plus 1/2 shipping. Here are some pics. let us know what you think. The bonus with getting a little bit older pup is that they are potty trained and are out of the really puppy stage and are done teething. |
He is gorgeous! I wish I could afford him I'd take him in a minute. Give him a hug from me! :aimeeyork |
Here's a face 1 Attachment(s) He is 13 weeks old. We live in Western NY. |
May I ask the reason you bump up a thread that is almost a year old? Start controversy perhaps? If you want to learn more about the biewers you may want to go to the other board YT has http://biewertalk.com |
And I'm not sure why my post ws removed - it was accurate. I have no problem with the biewer, I own a yorkie cross, but I was just stating how many believe the coloring to be a a drawback - now it is becoming popular just like the "designer" mixes. What would have been considered undesirable years ago is now the "it" dog. |
you know why it was removed. But if you want to talk about biewers, then go to the website that feminvstr provided. |

biewers are not the flavor of the month. they are a breed of their own in germany and people like stacy are trying to get the AKC to recognize them over here as well. A biewer is totally different from a designer dog. |
We have a forum designated to the Biewer and if you are interested in the breed you can join there :) www.biewertalk.com |
